If you like Bolesławiec pottery and are in the area, don't miss this little factory. You can take the tour for as little as 5 PLN per person (!) and show with your own eyes how these pretty pieces are made. The guide (Basia) was excellent! You can even meet the authors of the unique patterns! There are several stoneware factories in Bolesławiec but only this one gives tours. Each factory apart from the standard patterns has their own unique ones and you can of course buy the plates, mugs and lots of other products on site. Well worth a visit.

We took the 30 min tour of the pottery factory. I was very impressed with the work that goes into making the pottery. It made me appreciate the pieces I selected later in the store.

We got there on Sunday and got a tour to ourselves. It was fascinating and informative. Our tour guide was funny and enjoyable. We got several pieces of quality pottery from there for a good price.

When friends asked why I was visiting Poland, I somewhat jokingly replied, "because I love their pottery." I told JayWay Travel, organizers of our trip, that I wanted to see the real deal - a factory - not a gift shop - this is where they sent us. Of the 250 employees, 85 are women (one man) hand painting the pottery. Some are designs unique to this factory, others are designs any factory can produce. Major exports are to the US, but it is ghastly expensive here. We were reserved for a 12:30 pm English speaking tour and the staff acknowledged that. However, a large English tour was set for 1 pm. Could we wait? Unfortunately, we had a private driver, and that wouldn't work. They were great - graciously gave us a private tour on time. Their discounted section had patterns which were among my favorites. Oh, for another suitcase!

I have been coming to Poland to or purchase pottery for 15 years and this was the first time I got to this active manufacturing museum and store. It was a little difficult to find as it was off the beaten path but absolutely a "do not miss"!

Once you find the right direction you can easily follow the signs and find your way there.
We would highly recommend this pottery, make sure you go for a tour! It's very inexpensive and the girl who did our tour was lovely, she knew so much and we got a lot of background information. The shop was nice too.

Really enjoyed the factory tour. Took my almost 4 year old which is always nerve racking to have a young child around so many breakables but the tour guide was great!

The lady that gave the tour was very friendly and spoke English, very helpful when you can’t speak the local language. The shop was clean and the pottery pieces were way to get to. A must stop for those looking for pottery.

Seriously there are so many stores here, yet this one has been my favorite since the first time I traveled here over seven years ago. I love the "deal" room, I have found some AMAZING deals here. It isn't a place to go if you need to be fast because you need to look, but its incredible to search. They have excellent beads for jewelry/ rosaries. I love their section of wine glasses-and note this was the first place to have wine glasses for sale, about 5/6 years ago. Now you can get the wine glasses elsewhere, but I tend to like theirs still the most. Also, they have some amazing patterns-unique to them. So combining the cost and designs, it's still my favorite. As always, when Polish Pottery shopping-where clothes that can get dirty! It's a dusty business!

I find Manufaktura to be more expensive for pottery shopping than several of the other shops. They carry traditional and more modern designs.

How do we book a tour? We will be there in September. Thanks!
Written June 26, 2019
I think you can just send them a quick message and let them know that you would like to book a tour and ask them about it.
We just walked up and asked while we were there and someone happened to be free and had time to give us a tour.

Could you give an idea of your prices for quality 1 and 2 quality bubble mugs in dollars?
How far are you from the train station?
Written May 12, 2018
A mapping website I checked said it's 1.1 km from the station to the pottery museum/factory - a 14 minute walk. Apparently, there is no public transit, but maybe there's Uber. . . We arrived by chartered tour bus. I never shop for 1st quality stuff, but I seem to recall 2nd quality coffee mugs (not sure what a "bubble mug" is) running about $5-6 depending on intricacy of the pattern. It's a great tour. You'll love it! Also, there are several pottery factories in town, so be sure you ask directions to the right one, or you could try this:
Head west toward Bolesława Chrobrego/DW363 100 m
Slight right onto Bolesława Chrobrego/DW363. Continue to follow DW363 120 m
Turn right onto Kościuszki/DW297. Go through 1 roundabout
Destination will be on the right 850 m

How do I book a tour at Manufaktura-Live Museum of Pottery. Will be arriving on September 21st for two nights and would like a tour. Just love Polish Pottery!!!
Written March 8, 2018
Only some of their tours are in English, the rest, Polish, so I'd suggest checking their website and reserving in advance. It was fascinating and I too love Polish pottery.

I don't think so because it is a factory.
Written April 10, 2018
When I was there several years ago and toured the factory, they were unable to ship our purchases. Has that changed since then?
Written January 31, 2017
No, it hasn't changed.
We do not ship stuff outside Poland.
