A fantastic place not only for ski jumping fans. A "must see" point in Zakopane. The rafter makes a huge impression. There is a chairlift near the rafters, which I highly recommend. You enter in chairs for 2 people. Affordable prices: PLN 20 for a reduced ticket and PLN 25 for a regular ticket. At the end of the ride, a photo is taken and can be purchased for PLN 25. A nice attraction and souvenir. We were with a 10-year-old and a 3-year-old - both of them were delighted. :) I recommend! Beautiful views :)

We had come to Zakopane for hiking and were unaware that there is a ski jump in Zakopane.
It was exciting to stumble upon the hill on a Friday and watch training jumps on three different sized hills.
Given that there is no snow in September we were even more surprised that at the weekend there was an international competition taking place.
Entrance to watch the competition was only 5ZL which was a bargain.
It was heaps of fun to watch and drew a decent crowd. There were lots of cheers for the local jumpers.
Great fun.

It is the most Polish famous ski jump. I had a pleasure before to visit it from top. You need to look down from that perspective and then you can imagine how brave are ski jumpers and how great is this sport discipline.

Nothing special – just a big ski jump. One can take the cable lift to get to the top of the ski jump and feel like the ski jumper as well as admire the landscape. Nest to the spot there are few bars, sport training centre, stalls/stands with souvenirs. One can get there on foot, by bus, by horse cab.

We visited today and were sad to see the ski lift wasn’t running so we had to walk up the hill to see from the top
The scale of the ski jump is difficult to see from pictures but it is incredible that people actually jump down it

The ticket is 12PLN, but the view is spectacular. The cable car takes you there in 5-6minutes and the view from the very top of the skijump, overlooking the stadium and Zakopane is simply breathtaking.

My husband and I walked here from the main town and took the chairlift up to the top. Pretty cool to see the jump as you don't get the perspective from the bottom. We then took the walking trail down which wasn't too bad. Suggest getting there by mid morning to avoid queues.

We have been going to the World Cup event for the last three years.
Avoid Sections up the hill, such as A unless you are fit and wrapped up warmly. It is a hike up through the woods on a very slippy/icy path.
Get there early, and get a place 2 hours before the competition, get in the front of any standing section ( especially if you are with kids)or you will miss a lot of the action because of all the banners that people bring will obscure your view. When leaving after the competition, the crush is awful be prepared for the exit to take 1/2 hour. Once inside it's either impossible or very difficult ( depending on your section) to get a warm drink or a beer to fight off the evening chill. Make sure to reserve a restaurant after the event at least 5 days in advance.

We are going to the Ski Jumping World Championship January 20 thru 22. My question is, is there a shuttle bus from downtown to the jumping hill ? How long a walk is it?

We booked ours through our hotel. I think it's also bookable from the tourist information office.
