Small mountain just in front of cener of Zakopane good for 1 hour visit by cable car or short walk. A lot of shops on top and nice view for high mountains

Mount Gubalowka is a must place to visit if you are in Zakopane. There is something for everyone, whatever the age. A funicular takes you up and down the hill, or you can walk if you prefer. Once up, you can enjoy the view, visit the various stalls selling local wares, and taste some of the local food. There is... More

It was a rainy, cloudy day in Zakopane so I knew what I would get at the top…clouds and rain. The clouds were impressive and it was oddly quiet in the clouds and no rain. The ride in the modern funicular is fast and fun (try to get seats in the car facing the town) both ways and not that... More

As we couldn't get up to Kasprowy wierch due to waiting time for the tickets (4 hours) we decided to go at least to Gubalowka as our last option. On the way there we saw a beautiful local market with fruits, cheeses, souvenirs which was full of colors and tastes for good local prices. The train up is fast no... More

It's got everything you could want. A short ride in a cable car, cheap (22zl up and down, about £4.40), perfect views from the top, and a lot (a lot) of souvenir stalls, little pubs with breath taking views, street stalls with Hungarian cakes and absolutely gorgeous curly fries on a stick (sounds silly but don't knock it till you... Gubalowka is easy to walk to from Zakopane, the train up is pretty cheap, it's also very quick as the queue moves very fast, the views from the top over the town to the Tatra mountains are lovely. BUT the route to the bottom station is basically through a mass of tourist souvenir stalls and the top is much the... More

I've been here a few times over the years and the last visit (Sep 2016) will be my last. I fondly remember the place from a few years ago where one could easily enjoy the view and take in the atmosphere of the place, now several years later all that seems to be gone. It's wall to wall of tacky... More

So much fun going on the little train. Even more fun going on foot, gasping for breath and tired, encouraged by those running down the hill, finally getting to the top to see the spectacular view, drink cold beer and enjoy the many souvenier shops.

The views are lovely! And you can eat, drink and buy some local goodies. There is a few ways to get in to the top (plus the walking trail of course). there is a mountain rail and two chair lifts (chair lifts are a bit further away, but the walk from there is lovely). Not that expensive as well to get... More

Too busy, cars, shops, food, you feel like on the busy street. Business after all. No place for real relax and contact with nature but you can enjoy it anyway.
