Gubałówka is the highest village in Poland featuring beautiful views of the nearby Tatra mountain range as well as the town of Zakopane at her base. Typical Polish trinket shacks line both sides of the street, tempting tourists to let go off some of their zloty for both hand made and factory produced souvenirs. In the summer, there are climbing... More

Couple of nice restaurants at the top, and nice view from there. You will get there for close to zero cost. If not foggy, worth of trip

The funicular railway at the lower end of the main street is modern and very clean. It takes you quickly up to the top of the ridge for some great views over Zakopane and the valley. A return trip is 22 PLN. (£4.20). At the top are more stalls and cafes and a 'beach' like a giant sandpit for sitting... More

We took the funicular up the mountain. It was crowded but still fun. We found beautiful views, a number of restaurants, many shopping booths, pony rides and an alpine slide. The one thing obstructing the view was a large construction area. Not sure what is being built there.

Visited Gubalowka in June with my fiancé. The weather that day was lovely, very warm and sunny. We took a train going up and we were already stunned with the view. It was very busy on the top of the hill, loads of people walking around, taking photos, having snacks and drinks. We had a walk ourselves. Lovely food stalls,... More

Visited Gubalowka last week. Great views and never expected to find a lot of activity going on. Lots of souvenir shops and restaurants. Paid a fee for going up the funicular but was well worthed. Definately a must go!

We only stayed in Zakopane for two nights and this was enough to get a short exposure to this region, after always visiting the Tatras only from the Slovakian side. We decided against the trip up Kasprowy Wierch after some research on internet and hearing about the big crowds, recommendations to book in advance etc. and decided instead to take... More

It reminded me of an English sea side town - a bit tacky, but lots of fun! There are stalls galore along the (about) mile long street, including food stalls, bars, souvenir stalls and lots of activities, especially for children.

You find Gubalowka at the end of the famous market. Once purchased your ticket you 21am for return ticket scan and off you go for your ride. The actual ride on the binocular railway is only a couple.of minutes but the view is breath taking. Its only 1 cart taking about 50+ passengers only a few have seats, but it's... More
