We came to Zakopane for a four day trip and dog sledding with Fundog was one of the highlights of our visit. Gosia, who is the main organiser, was so friendly and responsive and arranged transport to and from our accommodation at a really reasonable price, much cheaper than standard taxi rates.
As an animal lover it's important for me that at attractions like this, the animals look well-cared for and content. The dogs were in great spirits, friendly and very amenable to petting. When we got into a sled they were always very excited to run, and we watched their tails wagging as they pulled us. Gosia and her colleagues are very affectionate with the animals and it's obvious they take good care of and love them.
The dogs they have here are both huskies and husky-pointer mixes, and the team of huskies seemed to be taking a break for the day because one had a small cut on its leg. Gosia told us a bit about traditional sledding practices and commands, and also about the dogs themselves, then we got three rides with our two children, a 5 yo and a 3 yo. The kids absolutely loved it, and so did we. Can highly recommend.

We had a brilliant morning with Malgorzata and her father and their very friendly team. The dogs were fantastic, very enthusiastic and loud and really looked to be enjoying their work pulling the sleds despite it being relatively warm. The location was beautiful, lots of snow up in the village of Zab and easy to find and park. We went as a family of 6 adults and 5 kids and we shared 7 x 2km runs which were fantastic. I even got to ride on the back like the instructor which was a fun experience. We all had a fantastic time and said we would highly recommend it! Thank you Malgorzata and team 🐶🙏🏼

The program was really good, and the landscape is beautiful. We heard some interesting information about the dogs, the breeds, their trainings, and competitions. The dogs are super cute and friendly. It seems that the owners care about the animals, not just use them. The sledding was amazing. This program is highly recommended to those who likes dogs and nature.

We had the husky dogs ride in January 2020. We paid PLN150 per person plus PLN180 transportation from Zakopane to Zab which is about a 15-minute drive. The dogs were friendly but not all of them were husky dogs, the majority of them were crossed breeds. The ride itself lasted maximum 3 minutes. All in all, I wouldn't recommend the experience as it's not worth the money.

Dear Elena,
thank you for your opinion. Usually we ride near Chocholowska Valley and there we have longer raid. Unforttunately this winter is not good for us. We don't have enough snow and we have ice on road in our place. In these condition husky rides are not possible. We don't want cancel meeting so we decide to change location to Ząb. I hope will be snowing soon and then we will come back to old place. PLN 180 is the local rate of carriers independent of us.
Regards
FunDog

We booked the hour experience for two adults two children aged 10-8 , plus a pick up drop off from our hotel ,we were quoted 650z by email even though on their web page it states 500z for a family group however we wanted the experience so ok the taxi wasn’t cheap either 180z so 830z Total Mm ok we were lucky our taxi could drive down the track to the dog site as if too much snow they can’t get down & is a bit of a walk; I must explain they set up in a field for the day where a farm track leads too & From main road ; dogs are transported ina rough trailer there each day by the looks of it there is no base or set up at all’ our instructor was knowledgeable friendly told us what dogs were ok to interact with how to approach etc history of the dogs then you can have a ride my son filmed his run on his go pro 7min off u pop ; so we arrived at 1pm all fin done by 1.45pm so 830z for 45 min a 7min ride up & down the farm track only no forest run at all ‘dogs were lovely but certainly not worth the money ; the guide who instructed us asked to be paid full twenty min before our hour was up then said he had to go ‘the other two just looked at us poured a cup of tea for themselves from a flask & pretended we weren’t there ‘the older guy with the great beard who seemed to really know the dogs dissapeared not sure where he went .So in my opinion save your money do it properly in Lapland ‘Norway ‘ Alaska etc .Very Dissapointing I also said all this directly to them by email as yet no reply!

I found that you could do husky dog riding via discoverzakopane.com, and as it's been on 'my list' for some time went to visit with my family. You'll likely meet a father/daughter team and 6 or 7 huskies very keen to go for a walk! There are a number of options as to what to do, but we chose the option where each person gets a turn to be driven on the huskies and then (if you want to) try driving them yourself. It was a fun experience, and a highlight of our holiday, although we didn't have any with us, I would say it would be a very child friendly experience. Also, the daughter speaks excellent English, so don't worry about the language barrier!
One other thing, the surrounding area (Dolina Valley) has some very pleasant walks and good restaurants nearby. As this will probably only take a couple of hours, it might be worth combining with a good lunch out here or a short walk.
Have a great time in Zakopane!

We got collected from our accommodation. We met the leader who was a really nice chatty guy. He was extremely helpful, spoke excellent English and overall very engaging. The huskies were adorable and the scenery was truly stunning. We paid €35 each which we thought was very affordable and totally worth it. It was a brilliant experience. Thank you!

My partner and I spent a few days in Zakopane when on our honeymoon. My husband is Australian so seeing the snow was enough for him but we found Fundog Husky Sledding through our hotel. Malgorzata was amazing, because it was the start of winter in Poland we weren't sure if we would have the opportunity to go but Malgorzata called us with updates on the snowfall and organised for transport from our hotel & back. Both her and her father run the dog sleigh and do a truly wonderful job, you can see it's their passion.
It was a great experience and we highly recommended for people travelling from overseas as well as... polacy ktorzy jeszcze tego nie zrobili :) the dogs are friendly and eager to go for a run and take you for a ride!
Dziekujemy bardzo za mila wycieczke!

like the previous reviewer i found fundog.pl from the discover zakopane website.
we visited as a group of 6 with children.
we booked through the website and got a confirmation email , it was also arranged for transport to pick us up from our hotel and everything went very smoothly.
the track is situated about 10km from Zakopane in a very beautiful area, there is a nice beginners ski slope close by so maybe worth combining the two.
we met the family who run the business and were introduced and given some information about the dogs and area.
the dogs are very friendly and everyone was able to pet them.
we opted for a short ride each which was very good value , we each got to be pulled as passengers and also to direct and steer the sleigh , that was quite an experience!!
the dogs are very strong and you can tell they are well looked after.
as far as i could gather the father was a championship winning breeder and sled competitor and started using his passion for the dogs with this small venture with his daughter.
i liked the fact that this was a small family venture and one that added a more personal experience and supported local business.
all in all i would recommend this as something everyone should aim to do on a visit to Zakopane , it is an experience we all thoroughly enjoyed especially my daughter.
