The shrine has a beautiful church decorated with hand carved wood done by the local people. There is also a small chapel that is worth seeing.

peaceful and unique. Very intricate woodcarvings give this place a sense of hours of dedicating and work from the artists who built it. Ask for a guide - lots of interesting facts and anecdotes (in between to much historical data). Its a nice half-day trip to walk here from Krupowki - gives you a good feel for the town

1951 in zakopane the chapel of the immaculate heart of Mary was erected. there are daily masses, including holy rosary mass, but this sacred place has been a shrine and contines to celebrate a museum exhibiting relics . Pope John Paul was particulary close to this shrine and came as a bishop in 1961 and then in 1987 .
So the history is that in Fatima in 1917 portugal the holy virgin Mary appeared to three children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco and told them to say their prayers the rosary in particular and to make sacrifices fo the penace of sinners and to pray to obtain peace in this world . I hope you will find solace in coming as we did.

Too commercial. I was there on a rainy day, actually it poured buckets. Fatima was so crowded that I couldn't navigate. Not even sure what I saw, as there appeared to be no signage of exactly where the apparitions took place.

The reverence to Our Lady is simply beautiful. You can also clearly feel a presence of Pope JPII. The wood in this church is gorgeous. Make sure to visit the "Kaplica" to the back right of the church. There is also a gift shop down the stairs below the Kaplica. (Toilet is in the far lower parking lot to the right and costs 2zł)

This sanctuary was built to give thanks for the saving of the life of Pope John Paul 11 after the assassination attempt in 1981. It is beautiful.

The design of this church is like nothing a had seen before but it was interesting. Inside the church was bright and you are greeted with a statue of Pope John Paul II which is nice. While the shrine of Fatima is relatively new I still think it was beautiful none the less.

Just before you enter this church, turn around and look at the statue of John Paul II, with his arms in the air ... reaching out to Poland and the Tatra mountains that he loved so much. Kudos to the statue's creator ... it is as if John Paul II is blessing the world he loves: his country and his mountains --- forever. Very moving.

The stained glass of the assassination attempt and the simplicity of the intricate wood church is truly humbling. Don't miss this church.

It is only a minibus ride or a good walk from the Centre. The girl in the tourist office (opposite the old wooden Church) suggested to walk which was an excellent idea just forgot to mention it is easier coming back down the hill! So perhaps just do that and you will see some nice wooden house/ huts and some beautiful roofing jobs ! The Church itself is definitely worse the visit with all those features that other travellers had reported.

Visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in a group tour with our church. It was a beautiful day and the shrine was amazing. We actually attend ed Sunday mass here. The mass was said in Polish with an english translation on video boards. The interior of the shrine was richly adorned and the grounds were neatly kept and calming. Would very much recommend a visit.
