During the booking process I had mixed feelings. When I inquired via email the responses were prompt but somehow I had a feeling that they are not very friendly. Also the online payment is complicated because you can only pay through a platform with which I was completely unfamiliar with; several banks are listed however if your bank is not among them you cannot complete the purchase process. So I had to send the money via bank transfer. All in all I didn’t know what to expect. But they lived up to our expectations 100%.
On the day of the trip a very friendly person from their office contacted me via phone to clarify a misunderstanding (one of our friend caused it) and he made sure we know where to go and how to get there.
We were very lucky because it had been snowing for a few days and Chokolowska valley was truly magical. We decided to opt for the program in which the feast with the BBQ takes place first and the sleigh ride is after it in the dark. So for us the fun started at 16:00. The venue is very nice, next to a small stream, with a wooden half open stage, benches and several small bonfires. The food is truly abundant. When I read ‘no limit’ (as in their description regarding the menu) I’m always skeptical a bit of the quality or the real amount. Well, here both were above our expectations. Really you could eat as much as you wanted, the organizers were continuously refilling the ‘buffet’ even in the last 15 minutes of the event. The menu was bigos which is personally not my thing but was nice, oscypek, sausages, bread, lard, jam for the oscypek and additives for the sausage. Grill sticks are provided so you can grill your own cheese and sausage. Everything was very delicious. Tea is for free but for the mulled wine and highlander tea (alcoholic hot drink with spyritus) you have to pay 10 pln which is a reasonable price.
The highlander band was great and generally there was a fun party atmosphere and spirits were high.
Though I believe we were the only foreigners and very few people spoke English we caught the vibe and enjoyed it very much. The highlander music is very similar to our traditional tunes so we happily joined the singing and dancing crowd.
Though foreigners might feel a bit left out from the entertainment my advice is don’t let this put you off, have some mulled wine and just enjoy the atmosphere.
The sleigh ride with torches in the dark was amazing. We had tried horse sleighing before but with the torches it was very special this time, not to mention the beautiful surroundings.
This program really worth the money you pay. I highly recommend it. Dress warm!
However if you are not into this kind of highlander party thing you may find 2 hours too long. I believe mostly Polish people attend this event and they really turn it to a feast. So if you are not sure you would enjoy it, choose another program of the organizer as they also offer shorter programs.

We booked this and didn’t really know what to expect, it’s something really different .. it was great, we went on a sleigh around the valley which was covered in snow, so beautiful. Afterwards, we went to the bbq party.. that was an experience! The polish highlanders didn’t understand a word of English & neither did anyone in our group, which was slightly difficult when they called us up on stage with another group to play a drinking game but was all part of the fun! Food standing around the fire in the middle of the snow at night was amazing and definitely worth the money.

We had our Kulig (horse drawn sleigh ride) in the Dolina Chocholowska valley. We were on one of the last sleigh rides for the evening, we arrived at 8 pm. It snowed for a few days before our sleigh ride so there was plenty of snow to ride on. It was a very cold night -13c, but the sky was clear so there were plenty of stars. This is a very romantic ride if you are lucky enough to be the only two on the sleigh. There were 4-person sleighs and 8-person sleighs. This activity takes about 2-3hrs. The sleigh ride is about an hour-long followed by a 1-2hr cookout. Our cookout consisted of sausages and oscypki(local cheese)over a fire, bread with smalec (lard and bacon bits spread) and pickles. To drink we had hot tea, hot wine, and hot tea with vodka. We also had Gorale (Highlanders) playing music by the bonfire. It was a great evening spent by the fire drinking and singing.
Tips:
This is a very popular activity in the wintertime, spots fill up quickly, make your reservations a couple of days in advance.
Choose a day that isn't the coldest day of the week
It gets very cold in the valley, dress warm
Go when there is a fresh base of snow
Go when there's a full moon
Try to book one of the first sleigh rides for the evening somewhere around sunset.

Dear Mr/Mrs, we do not have offer as you wrote. We only make sleigh rides in Chocholowska Valley (Tatra National Park) - there are not any cars. After the sleigh ride we make real highlander barbecue with live music, games and catering with a lot of regional dishes (2 hours). Our programme is 3 hours (1h Sleigh Ride and 2h of Party). You can find our offer at www.kuligi.pl. We are really sad that you wrote this opinion about us because we are sure that you make a reservation in different company - not KULIGI.pl. So we hope that you change this unfair opinion about us (the highest quality to our Customers is our priority). We also invite you to make a reservation at KULIGI.pl to change opinion about sleigh rides in Tatra Mountains! :) Thank you, kind regars - KULIGI.pl.

We did the New Years Eve event. We had wanted to do something special and unique for our NYE experience in Poland. Unfortunately we had a terrible time and we spoke to many others on the bus trip back to the city centre who also felt the same way-sadly. We paid A LOT of money for the evening and it was very disappointing.
For a start, it was not really suitable for people who dont speak Polish. The entertainment was Polish folk music-great. However when speaking to the crowd and announcing and engaging the guests, it was only in Polish so quite often we didn't know or understand what was happening and no one thought to explain it for the english speaking crowd. There were some drinking games later in the evening as part of the entertainment and again it was all in Polish so it was only a limited group of people who could participate. We didn't feel like we were involved and it was very isolating for the guests. Also when trying to arrange the guests into the horse carriages(which was pure chaos), no one explained what was happening. People we standing around confused because no announcement was made in English. Considering it was an event attracting tourists, it's something that should be considered or please let people know the event isn't suitable for english speakers and then they know. I'm not arrogant to suggest the whole world needs to speak English but when you run events for a mixed group of tourists, it's usually necessary in part.
Considering the weather had been snowing and melted, there was a lot of mud and ice about the main site. Whilst the company cannot control the weather and it's an outdoors event, I do feel there could have been more infrastructure and effort made to clear a safe path for people to walk on in the dark. My partner slipped on the ice and fell very badly. If you are going to run an event in the dark and the ground is very muddy and slippery, at least make a safe gravel, salt gritted path.
The toilet was a portaloo. 1 toilet. No lights. Not hygienic as it was pure pitch black darkness. No wonder they didn't supply many drinks!!
We very much looked forward to the carriage ride. However it was done in pitch black darkness. We saw nothing and felt the experience was entirely pointless/wasted. They gave a guest in each carriage 1 torch lit by flame however most people dropped them as they were burning people's hands and didn't really add much light to the situation. We also stopped on the path for about 15 minutes or so stationary in the carriage and again no one explained why. We were all waiting for something to happen but nothing happened. Other guests also commented on how pointless the carriage ride had been. We had thought it would be the highlight! It was meant to be an hour also but it definitely wasn't. I'm sure it's lovely during the day when you can actually see something!
The food!? We had expected lots of regional dishes and interesting things to eat. The schedule had said we would eat some things initially and then come back after the carriage ride to feast on more regional meals. Being NYE and what we had paid, we had expected lots of food. What was offered for the whole night-one type of cheese, sausages, bread, gherkins, condiments, cabbage soup, tea. That was it!! If you wanted a cold drink, the option was water or coke and you were expected to pay for it additionally!!! Then they ran out of them. We were outraged. It was NYE!! We were given a mini vodka for the carriage ride, then there was a glass of sparkling wine at midnight....by which time I think most people were over it! Considering how cheap food and alcohol is in Poland, they must have made a huge profit that night.
We also expected a fireworks display as mentioned in the itinerary. They let off 3 fireworks!? Again we were utterly disappointed. With the exception of the Polish guests who were able to participate in the drinking games, everyone else looked very bored. When the coaches arrived to take people back to the city centre, we raced to get on. On the way back, everyone was complaining about the evening. It was a real shame to spend our NYE this way. It could be a great night but needs a lot of thought and a lot of work to make it much better.

Do you provide Kuligi trips during the morning or only in the evening?
JustDiveIn

The Kuligi trips with bonfire and food are only available at night. If you just want a sleigh ride and there is enough snow on the ground, go to Dolina Chocholowska during the day and you can get a sleigh ride.
