The entrance to this valley is within walking distance from central Zakopane (2.4 km from Krupowki street; 100m up; follow Kasprusie road). A well maintained path, at times more like a small road, leads to the upper part of the valley and takes about 40 minutes. Special about Strazyska is the fact it is a rather narrow valley with a wild stream running through. Not just pine trees, but deciduous trees as well provide a colorful experience. Especially this time of the year (October) when autumn sets in. It is possible to hike out of the valley towards Sarnia Skala 1377 m. (follow a trail with black and white markings towards the east). Driving from Krakow to have a walk in the National park. Parking space is plenty with 15zł charged per day and very close to the park entrance. Strazyska Valley Route is an easy one to us as a family of 5 with 3 children youngest at 7 years old. Took around 1hour for returned. Signs not very clear as I got to a wrong small path after the “red sign” finished. After “red sign”, you should go past the kiosk and to the waterfall. Nice walk overall. …

While in Zakopane for a weeks family break we visited the Strazyska Valley for a walk before skiing. We were lucky that it started to snow as we set off. It was just stunning, we had the most beautiful walk, stopping to take photo's and play in the snow. The approach to the bottom on Giewont is magical, esp with the snow falling around us. We visited the small tea rooms for hot mulled wine, hot chocolates and apple pie. Most definetly a memoral experience on our trip. One day we will return !…
