Tadeusz Nalepa was a famous Polish musician that went to music school in Rzeszów. This statue is placed near the heart of the city - it's market - and it is a beautiful way to commemorate his life and creativity. Looks great at night, too.

Good idea to celebrate your own - nice statue of their local legendary musician, in the middle of a walking street, which has numerous name-engraved slabs on the path showing who contributed money for the making of this road - good idea - people can contribute to make better roads and get a bit ego satisfaction in getting their name advertised - I like the idea

This statute has done the musician justice and we had to pass it a few times to get where we were going each day. Always had people standing next to it for photos and there were always fresh flowers.

Tadeusz Nalepa is called "father of Polish blues". His strong ties with Rzeszów - Nalepa spent his younger years here, and his career kicked off here - made him an unforgetable person in town, and this little monument, opened in 2009 - two years after Nalepa's death - is just one of the proofs of that. Wearing his typical clothes, and obviously carrying his guitar, he walks one of the main streets of the town, as he used to do in his years. Popular spot for tourists taking pictures with the Bluesman.

Nalepa graduated from the Rzeszow Music School in violin, clarinet and double bass classes. He first found recognition at a talent competition for young musical talents in Stettin in 1963 together with the singer Mira Kubasińska. With Mira Kubasińska, he founded the band Blackout in 1965, for which Nalepa wrote the music to texts by the poet Bogdan Loebl. Nalepa's breakthrough came in 1968 with the newly formed blues rock band Breakout, who also performed with Mira Kubasińska as a singer. The band existed until 1983 and recorded ten LPs. From 1983, he played mainly solo and appeared with various other Polish bands. He also composed the music for two feature films. You can check out his videos on YouTube.

The Tadeusz Nalepa monument stands out in this otherwise beautiful walking street. The monument is great for nighttime pictures in the otherwise up-lighted walking street.
