About
Although it originates in the tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Southeastern Europe, the genre was mostly influenced by Romanian, Greek, Ukrainian, Polish, and Turkish music. The repertoire consists of instrumental pieces, connected with the folklore of Reform Judaism, and of songs performed in Yiddish, belonging to the tradition of Orthodox Judaism.

This was such a beautiful experience, I cannot recommend it highly enough! The venue is small so you really get an intimate concert. We went for the Choping concert. The pianist, Radosław Goździkowski played wonderfully some famous and less known Chopin pieces: Nocturnes, Mazurkas, Polonaise... High quality music so moving it brings tears to the eyes.
We were welcomed into the place very pleasantly and had a wonderful time. The venue has air conditioning and is clean, well managed.
I don’t think it’s possible to not enjoy it, even if you are not into classical music.

Most people identify Klezmer music as Jewish, perhaps this has become so and perhaps it only appears so. Certainly the name, Klezmer, comes from the Hebrew words Klei (instruments) and Zemer (song). The origins are far more romantic than that however. The long, drawn out notes have their origin in a medley of all the perfumes of Arabia and Turkic music. Add to this Romanian and Gypsy music and you're getting close.
What is clear is that it is extremely emotional music running through all the gamuts from heartbreak to triumph. During the course of one concert you can experience a lifetime of feeling.

How much more so in Krakow where Klezmer belonged largely, although by no means exclusively, to the 65,000 Jews of whom only 150 survive following the Holocaust.

Di Galitzianer Klezmorim, a small group, plays Klezmer music every Thursday at 14 Slawkowska Street with all the heart of the human being.

If you are visiting Krakow and want to feel a part of its past, not just bricks and statues and not just memorials and bars, you would do well to add this to your cultural enrichment.

Booked online at cracowconcerts.com, the venue is quite small and plain however the passion with which the duo performed was impressive. The violinist played with verve whilst the guitarist played well and sang in Yiddish with gusto. Definitely worth a visit.

An accordion, clarinet and bass....all superb musician with extraordinary talent and energy. For one hour we were in another world, and our group of 53, 21 and 14 year old loved the concert. The musicians gave us two encores! This concert was joyful and inspiring, a beautiful way to close our visit to Poland that had very much be focused on Jewish wonderful culture, courage and strength.

We went to the Klezmer Hois for dinner and a Klezmer concert. Traditional Jewish food and you will feel like you are sitting in a friend's dining room. Great Klezmer music too. Located in the Jewish neighborhood in Krakow.

Totally delightful hour of beautiful Klezmer music played by Wilde Felder. Their skill and enthusiasm was extraordinary. We were impressed by their communication through music and arrangements.

As a matter of fact I was expecting more ... a little more Jewish music by Klezmer, the violinist was excellent guitarist who was also the singer ,average, the small hall is beautiful but without air conditioning and although it was 18 degrees outside, the hall was warm as in the sauna, the operation of two small fans did not affect the sweat almost Of all of us, I've been to klezmer shows around the world and it's very mediocre

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are constantly trying to maintain the organization of the event, so your opinion is very important to us. And yes, we agree that we have to mount air conditioning as soon as it is possible.

This place is by far better than the Klezmer Hois -. a restaurant in Kaimierz where they serve expensive food and present avarage klezmer musi; a renuine tourst trapc. This place is great; you pay 50 PLN for a one hour concert with two fantastic musicians, a violinist and a guitarist. They played fantastic and the music was amazing. Unfortunately very few tourist are aware of the place. The start concerts Tuesday, Saturdays and Sundays at 17.30. If you like live music this is the place to go in Krakow. Find it off Rynek Glowny, go down the Slawkowska Street until you find number 14; not very good signed. The venue is on the second floor.

Didn't know what to expect when we arrived late and were seated at a crowded table right at the front. Ended up being a great experience. Fantastic music played with verve and passion.
