This outside market is situated about ten minute walk away from old town. They sell things like old kitchen-stuff, old books, old tools, fake lego and stuff I would like to call garbage. But it is fun to just walk around and see all the stuff. It's not a very big market. There is also a indoor market where they sell food.

Plac Targowy Unitarg is locally known as Hala Targowa. There are markets there everyday, though sunday is by far the best day to go. This is when the everyday grocery market transforms into a full-blown flea market. This is as close as you get to an authentic Polish market feeling in Krakow. Only a 10 minute walk from the old town centre, and you are in antiques heaven. Noone speaks any English here, but you can get a lot of the way with hand signs and a calculator. The flea market packs up around 14 PM, so be there early. This is a great place to go before lunchtime.

Get there early if you are a serious buyer. Otherwise 9am or even 10 is still OK. I went in October and got there at 10 and there was still loads of stuff to sift through. I bought a fab silver bracelet that I love - good price too. Haggle. Today we went again - got there at 3pm and it was all gone as the weather was miserable. Best time to go is in the morning. There are dedicated serious sellers with tables set up, as well as many lone private sellers selling rubbish - I guess it's all they have to sell which is very sad. One lady was standing there just selling a handful of ribbon :(
I'm not saying that everyone in Poland drinks a lot... but blimey - when I went in the morning the wave of vodka fumes hit me! They say they people sell stuff there so they can get their next Vodka fix. No idea if true! No one was drunk there though so don't worry about people falling around. Nice people, safe to go. Don't be daft with your cash - keep it hidden as you would anywhere.

I suppose if you are into flea/ junk markets - you'll enjoy rummaging here.
I think it is only a flea market on Sundays. The rest of the week it is a food market (which I prefer.)
The food stalls were closed on the Sunday Flea Market day.

Worth the walk from the old town. Lots to se and buy, and absolutely possible to make a bargain! Especially silver, crystal, old tools, instruments and furniture. Did really enjoy it!

Unitarg is located around 10 minutes from the central train station and a must for anyone who enjoys a good Sunday morning rummage in a flea market.
Expect everything from dismembered mannequins to WW1 German helmets, with a liberal sprinkling of books, magazines, flowers, groceries, bric-a-brac, militaria, pottery, paintings and lighting in-between!
Ranging from ‘official’ undercover stalls in the centre to individuals stood with just a handful of items on the fringes of the site, it feels authentically local and somewhat ramshackle, but extremely vibrant!
We picked up a nice vintage tea tray and a polish pottery candlestick for around £4, but could easily have brought back so much more if our suitcases had been bigger - especially the period lighting fixtures, which are stunning!!
A word of caution, a lot of the DVDs and military items look suspiciously fake or unofficial, so be sure to check them closely before parting with your cash.
The market is also filled with cigarette smoke (to a ridiculous extent) and especially in the undercover section; I have bronchitis so had to stay on the outside where the air is clearer.
Finally, this is not ‘the biggest flea market in Europe’ as some posts have claimed. You can easily complete a couple of circuits and see everything it has to offer in about an hour, but it will be an hour well spent!

They literally sell everything you can think of. From flowers, food and books to antiques, diving flippers and motherboards for computers. It was an array of everything they had in their homes, but a wonderful experience looking at all the items and got to buy a few hidden gems as well.

Worth a wander on a Sunday but also very crowded and most items are speciality or housewares. Fun to see people's stuff though, and I bought some really nice raspberries from one of the few food vendors.

This market is one of the best saturday morning programme! If the sun is shining and you fancy having fresh vegetables on your table for the next week, just grab your boy-/girlfriend and visit this place full of healthy and beautiful products straight from Polish growers! Sundays, you'll find an interesting flea market with small miracles to fall in love with!
