We did the 6,5 hour study tour in English. First we we went to Auschwitz 1 after the lunch the bus brought us to Auschwitz 2 (Birkenau). Tour was good. Restaurant is okay. We did not had much time for lunch.

Good tour company to use. Easy to book via Tripadvisor with good e-mail updates beforehand. There were 6 people in total as part of our pick up. We were picked up at our hotel and transported to Auschwitz where we joined a larger tour group. Very good and informative guide on such a sad subject. After the 1st part of the tour around Auschwitz, we were driven about 5 mins to Birkenau and rejoined the same group and guide. We were picked up 8.15am from our hotel and started the Auschwitz tour at 9.30am. We got back to the hotel around 2pm. The 1 star reduction is due to the pickup being half hour late. We did receive a call to advise other passengers were slow at pick up points but there was only 1 pickup before us and half an hour extra in bed would have been my preference.

First off It was an amazing experience, I rated 4 out 5 because our driver was a half hour late picking us up. We had to call them to see what was going on. I almost gave up and considered renting my own car. Once we were finally picked up the rest of the day went smoothly. Our driver Michael despite being late was very good and he was a very nice young man. He got to out tour just in time. If you are ever in the area this is a must see. You see it on TV and in movies. But no matter what you think, it's only in person can you truly understand the magnitude of this place. It's a heavy, taxing day. You are emotionally drained once you leave, but it's so worth it. It's 1000% an absolute must visit.
