Quite possibly my favourite museum ever!
If you have a liking for the gory and the macabre then you will love this small but well-stocked museum of horrors! It features fantastically preserved items of death and torture from mediaeval times and even includes prison window bars from the time. Items of interest include an iron maiden, Judas chair, rack, St Andrews Cross, torture cabinets, cages, weapons, devices to crush, wound and maim... The museum curator is a great guy - very friendly and fantastically knowledgable about the workings of his exhibits! He is also a very talented artist and we were delighted to buy a print of his pen and ink drawing featuring a hanging tree in Kraków. Fascinating place and very highly recommended!

    Small but interesting
Visited Krakow in December and stumbled upon this little place whilst there. As others have said, it is small but it's jam packed full of some very interesting stuff. The chap who runs it is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the items and the history behind everything. Would definitely recommend a visit.

    Nice collection and informative guide
It's a small museum but there's a very nice collection in it. The man at the museum spontaneously gave us extra information about the exhibit and answered all of our questions. He was very friendly, passionate and knew a lot about history and the region.

    Small "museum", unprepared guide
We spotted this "museum" on the way back to our hotel and we thought it was going to be an interesting, different one. We went in, and discovered a single room crammed with poorly organised and sloppily displayed "artifacts". After wandering around for less than a minute, the cashier that sold us the tickets trundled downstairs and proceeded to stare at us awkwardly. He finally gave some very random and very inaccurate information about the items on display, which looked like he was making up on the spot. When asked to provide historical context to his various claims, he failed miserably to do so; he must have been having some serious delusions of grandeur, thinking himself some sort of guide or expert! If you are looking for an interesting and intriguing experience, prepare to be disappointed or to do have Wikipedia handy the whole time, you will not find any credible source of information in this museum.

A bit different and worth a visit
This place is a privately owned exhibition and the owner was on-site when we visited. Asking how much we were told 30 PLN for the two of us and didn’t hear any other options; so that would be approx £6 (£3 a person) so not expensive. It is a single room packaged with different artefacts / items of torture and the owner was happy to answer any questions or give some general information on things. Spoke some English for us to get the idea. There is no written down information or pictures from historical books which would have been good, not that there was much room to include this. More a room of interest than a museum and only takes about 15 minutes to look round. Easy to fit around other things, not too far from the main square at all and only £3 (15 PLN) per person so worth popping in - just would not expect it to be a museum or large

    Quirky museum, fun time
detailed personal tour of this quirky museum. The owner was a friendly chap, enthusiastic in giving very detailed explanations, almost sure he’d have had us on the stretching rack being flailed with some torture instrument which only led to us enjoying it even more. If you’ve got 20mins to spare go and see him they need as much support as possible this is a private museum without any council funding/support. On thé main square across from the head statue down a little court yard, hidden gem

A unique and novel museum, worth a visit
I have NEVER before seen such a museum! And I loved it! It's not the biggest museum you'll ever visit but it's cheap and well stocked. The owner even came down with us and told us what certain implements were for... I think he'd have given a demonstration if he was asked! :) It's a very novel and impressive little place, and the owner is such a lovely guy. If you get the chance to visit then it's a must - it's worth the entrance fee and if you can get talking to the owner you'll find him super friendly. Thanks for a memorable hour or so!

Educational, interesting, and even a bit creepy!
Very inexpensive. Was very small but had some amazing artifacts that cannot be found elsewhere. The museum owner gave us a personal tour and explained each item and how it was used. Pretty amazing and even kind of creepy stuff. All of the items are authentic and were used on people- hard to believe when you see some of the devices! For those who like history or even the macabre, this is a small museum that shouldn't be missed!

    Perfect holiday gap-filler
My partner and I visited the executioner museum as something to do to break up the day on our visit to Krakow. We had a great time and the equipment on display was very interesting. As there was no one else there, the owner showed us round and explained what each piece of equipment was used for which was very kind of him. The museum is located just off the main square so is very easy to access. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Krakow!

Amazing museum! It's a small museum packed with torture and execution implements - some rare and large peices too you just won't see elsewhere. All original. It's quite impressive! The owner is lovely and happy to answer all questions. Probably the best museum I went to in Krakow. It's right in the main square, dont miss it!

The place is quite interesting itself but the staff member (old man) seemed super creepy. He went downstairs with us and started telling us about things completely unrelated to the place. What's more he seemed chauvinistic and he shared his beliefs related to this even though we did not want to talk about it. During our visit we had no possibility to talk to each other because of the constant comments of the man. I would not recommend visiting this place. We paid a lot and did not get a chance to enjoy the visit.

The worst museum I have ever been too !
Went with my 13 year old son and he found the owner to be bizarre and creepy as I did , we were the only people there and he came down to join us and just sat staring at us both , I asked if he could tell us about the exhibits and he then demanded more money for the ' guided' tour , no mention of this when I first paid ?
An uncomfortable and unsettling experience
Avoid at all costs !!
