We visited on a Sunday morning which is free admission. It was a pleasant walk via the local cemetery after visiting the Commonwealth War graves.
The lady at the ticket desk was very friendly and helpful and told us where we needed to go.

If you are interested in military and general Polish war history then it is an interesting place to visit. We did find it quite difficult to read some of the information at the start of the museum as the lighting isn’t great so use the torch on your phone.
Overall a good visit and pleased we found it. It doesn’t seem to be a museum that’s perfectly well publicised which is a shame.

Very interesting overall with the many original elements, pity for French tourists, no way to get informed without French Guide.
A helmet with qr code on the panels would have been interesting to understand the history of the army in audio.
The system to indicate the direction of the visit was a bit messy (arrows on the ground)
Have a nice visit anyway

I didn't like this one. Its 10-17, not 11-18 as their English page suggests, and while the permanent exhibition is in English, the contexts are very dry and academic, and I bounced right off them. It was all organisational structure when I wanted anecdotes of the Home Army in action. Lots of photographs and uniforms, while it needed bigger items to break up the walls of information. The low lighting was tiresome, making some texts impossible to read.

Firstly, location is out to the east, aim for tunnel under main Kraków train station, big brick building, left at first round about. Paid about £4. As other comments note: very dim lighting. An audio tour in English was not yet available. Little English on one level, better on the other floor. 2.5 levels to see. A snap shot of Polish times when the Nazi's arrived and then as WW2 ended the equally oppressive communist times. A real education. Great to see school children there. I was the only adult at that time ! Thick fog on the day, made it hard to find.
Some excellent exhibits and a vast variety of guns.
Labelling could be massively improved and more artefacts added, hopefully with time....

This is a great museum for my interests. There is a lot of information about the exhibits and what happened, so book at least 2-3 hours for it. it's quite big. Some exhibits are not well lit, so your phone's lantern may be useful from time to time. But it's really worth it, as some exhibits are very impressive like the the V2 rocket.
Tickets were quite affordable too. The museum is close to the bus/train station, just cross a tunnel under the railway track and you're there. Google maps does a good job to take you there.

The museum was easy to reach and reasonably priced. It was not the most interresting place to visit for non-polish speakers due to the lack of English information within the museum - although there were lots of exhibits we couldn't read a lot about them as we didn't speak polish.

A very extensive account of World War 2 and the years following in Poland - Nazi occupation followed by Soviet occupation. Countless exhibits and a lot of information. Very moving, because for so long Poles could not speak openly about the latter, in Poland at any rate. Also an exhibition about operation Burza in Lwow.
The gentleman on duty in the museum takes it all to heart, down to giving us a password to repeat to the taxi driver who picked us up. The museum is not far from the central square in the old town,
The buildings next to the museum are run down, and access doesn't seem obvious, but taxis are very reasonably priced.

Don't let the fact that this museum appears to be a little off the beaten path put you off from visiting it. It's located just across the road that runs behind the Galleria Krakowska shopping centre and is about a 20 minute walk from the main square [the quickest way there is to cut through Galleria Krakowska, then through the centre’s bus station and across the road].

It's a really good museum for any one interested in Polish, WWII or 20th century European history. The story of the Polish Home Army and its heroic resistance during both the Nazi and Soviet occupations of Poland deserves as wide an audience as possible. There are lots of fascinating exhibits here including a life-size mock-up of a V2 rocket and artefacts recovered from the site of the Katyn massacre.
It's well laid out across tow floors and is well signed in English throughout. Allow a good hour to take it all in. Highly recommended.

Well worth going to see- In great setting and only 10 minutes walk behind the railway station ( although signage could be better) The exibits are great and and mostly in Polish and English. Super range of firearms to see and really learned alot that i hadn't realised about Polish history.

This museum is full of information about Poland during the time of World War II, along with the time preceding and following the war. It is laid out well, generally chronologically so it is easy to follow the story of Poland during this time period and understand how events unfolded. (There was only one area in which I thought it got a little muddled/unsure of where to go next, but not a major problem). This museum does a great job of giving you an overview of all aspects of society in different parts of Poland from the people in the underground army to the citizens trying to survive while being occupied, to the people taken/murdered by both the Nazis and the Soviets, and also the role of other counties as related to Poland's experience during this time. It's really quite impressive. There's a lot of detailed information on military matters (as you could probably tell from the name of the museum), but even if you're not a military buff (and I am definitely not; I skipped most of that), there is plenty here to learn.

My first problem with this museum is that there are several exhibits/photos/videos that are only in Polish. (However, there is so much information that I still didn't even get through all that was in English anyway). The second thing is that there is no bookstore, and I really would have liked to have been able to bring some of this great history home with me.

If you are interested in Polish or World War II history, I would recommend this museum for sure!
