We are extremely pleased we chose this company for our trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau from Krakow. As promised we received an email the day before with our pick up time, which was 6:45. Our driver Lucas arrived bang on time to collect us. We got into the comfortable mini bus, to join another group of three and a couple. Lucas then briefed us all on the trip ahead. We arrived in Auschwitz at roughly 8 am, which allowed us a 10 minute break before meeting our tour guide. The museum was already packed with numerous coach loads of people waiting to enter. This is why it is essential to get picked up early presumably.I know an early start isn'y for everyone, but this is the best way to do it. Lucas ensured we all were organised and didn't leave us until we all had our headsets on, ready for our tour. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and approached the topic with a great deal of sensitivity. She speaks through a microphone straight into the headsets. I have no words for the experience, and the things we heard on the tour. I knew a lot about Auschwitz already but learnt so much, and there is nothing like being there to take it all in. A poignant day, but I believe it is so important to visit. We had a 10 minute break before moving on to Birkenau before our second part of the tour. You don't have headsets for this part of the tour. Again, there is no words. Overall, an excellent service was provided by ComFort Tours Cracow, and we could not recommend the company enough. You must take food and eat on the bus as the breaks only allow time to use the toilets, which get busy and cost 2 zloty. I just about had enough time to pop into the book shop to pick up a guidebook. It understandably gets very busy and tour groups need to be moved along for it all to run smoothly and to get the best experience as possible. We got dropped off at our apartment just before 1pm. Thank you Lucas and ComFort Tours Cracow.
