A stroll around the park is worth the two hours or so to do it. It was a bit rainy the morning we did the walk , but it was still pleasant. We skipped the first couple boards that had history information but got into...More

A nice way to get around the old town areas, away from most of the crowds. Use it during the day and evening with no worries. Quieter in the winter months.

The medieval defensive moat that once surrounded the city walls has been filled up and made into a beautiful park. The park extends from the Florian Gate to the Wawell Castle and surrounds the old town. Inside the park are many tree lined avenues with...More

Planty park virtually surrounds the historic centre of Krakow and at this time of year (November) with the autumn colours in the sunshine, it was just lovely. A peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city and yet so close to all the major attractions....More

Beautiful park in the summertime, calm and quiet, crowdy and noisy at the same time. Especially I loved burping British near the trees :)

hello philandsa, It is very likely that it will be snow and it may be cold, you have to dress on the bulb, so take a warm hat, warm socks, gloves and a scarf. And always be nice to walk and admire this beautiful city

Limited time - Can we see these? (8 Replies)
Hi guys, Im going to be in Krakow with my spouse as part of a tour group in July. We will have one day of the walking tour of the city and a visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp. The next day is a free day to see anything we want. We are planning to do the salt mine tour for sure in the morning, but not sure what to do in the second half of the day. We will be staying 5min away from the main market square so spending time there is definitely an option. These sites also look...More

I don't know what your group tour will cover, so cannot be certain as to what to recommend. However, there are tons of things to see nearby the main market square. St Mary's is opened throughout the day, though closed for tourists during a mass. Otherwise, it's open for a visit. Museum under the market square MUST be booked in advance - it's a nice thing to see which takes around 1-2h depending on how interested you are in details, but I would not see this as a must see if you have so little...More
