This place is a must, obviously very upsetting but also interesting and must never be forgotten. The tour was very well organised by Discover krakow, the guide was very informative and answered any questions the group had, we had plenty of time to see everything and there were breaks for refreshments and toilets.. There is a cafe serving hot food and drinks and a book shop.

My husband and I decided to do the trip independantly. We travelled there by train which cost 7 Zloty single for the both of us and 178 Zloty for us both to go in. We caught the 9.06 train which got us there about 9.30. It was only a 10 minute walk to the mine, easy to follow signs. There was no queue so we went in on the 1000am tour. Really great experience. Although there were a lot of steps down (I counted about 700in total) they were ok. I did find the tour guide walked quite briskly once we were on the flat. Huge rooms, especially the chirch with the huge chandeliers. Tour took about 2 and half hours and luckily you got back to the surface by lift. We saved quite a bit of money as organised tours were about 160 Zloty each and we paid 190 for the two of us including train there and bus back.

We booked a number of tours with Discover Cracow Tours, either picking us up from our hotel or someone meet us at the hotel and walked us to the tour bus (not very far away). Our first tour was Auschwitz-Birkenau, an early start, whilst on the tour bus a film about the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The tour guide at Auschwitz-Birkenau was an amazing man, his knowledge was excellent, he answered questions and was very dignified in relaying harrowing details of what happened, he said go home and tell everyone about this place so those who died here are not forgotten.
Before leaving for Kracow we had already decided not to do both tours on the same day as there was lots of walking in 27 degree heat, thank goodness the tour buses were airconditioned.
Early the next morning, we were met at the hotel and walked to the tour bus, then headed for the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Wow, lots of steps, 380 from the surface down, in all we went down 800 steps, thank goodness for the 'fast' lift back up to the surface. Again the tour guide was fabulous, his knowledge was excellent and waking through the mines from one area to another has to be experienced. I can still taste the salt!
A big thank you to all the staff, drivers and tour guides at Discover Carcow Tours.

If booking with this group I would highly advise you to confirm the departure time of your booked tour during contact opening hours.Unfortunately I was booked for 830am and unable to get through to this company till 10am. One hour and 30 mins waiting not knowing would I even get this tour complete.Staff not apologetic on the phone.Very poor customer service.They kept stating contact was made to myself but no record of same found. Maybe for the future the phone lines should be open earlier especially if there is a pick up at 830am and a no show of transport!

We were told to go 15 minutes before and we have gone to auswitch 2 hour late la 75 minutes waiting.
Then we arrive and we stayed 1 hour waiting for the tickets to be given to us.
Guide was the only good but I don't recommend to use this company!!!

Made a taxi booking from wieliczka to krakow and they never showed up. Was waiting 40 minutes outside in the cold. Tried calling the number given and the call was declined. That was several days ago and have not received a call or text from them since. I was charged for a service that never showed up. Never use them again. Go with krakow Direct for taxis and tours instead.
I ended up walking to the nearest taxi rank to get another taxi. Ended up arriving in krakow late.

We bought tickets to schindlers factory for april. They say in the site we can cancel till the last day without losing our money but it isn’t true. Due to covid we cancelled our trip on 1st of april and they haven’t returned our money Back!!

Do not recommend. I booked a tour with this company the day before, the description says the pickup is at 6-7 am, I tried to contact them the day before to confirm a time, however it was late so we did not get an answer. We showed up to the pickup point just after 6, only to find out that the bus left at 5:50. They told us the bus was at the other pickup point, which was only a short taxi away, however the staff assured us that the bus would come back and pick us up before heading to Auschwitz. Around 15 minutes later, the staff told us that the bus had left and was not coming to pick us up, and suggested that we pay for a taxi to Auschwitz, which for us was definitely not feasible, as this would be too expensive. We were refused a refund, even though it was not our fault that the bus left without us. On top of this, the staff were rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend this tour to anyone, and would suggest you book with a different tour group.

I booked a trip to Zakopane with you, on the above booking reference. I had looked at getting a bus and making our own way there as it was much cheaper. But decided to book with yourselves after reading you offered hotel pick up and drop off, and a guided tour.
I’m am extremely disappointed and feel I have been misled on information regarding our trip, as we had to make our own way to a pick up point and drop off point, and there was noguided tour, and we had to guide ourselves, not knowing what was what. I feel I have paid £85 for a minibus ride when I could have paid less than £15-£20 in a bus and done exactly the same trip. Also it says we would be dropped off in Kraków at 7pm, when in fact we were back at 5pm. Our driver only spoke to us on departure telling us our arrival time, and spoke again on arrival telling us our pick up time, we had no information from him at all.
We have booked return airport transfers with you, also Auschwitz and Salt mine tours, these we were extremely happy with the service, but this has disappointed us. I feel I have been very misled and conned out of £85. I have emailed you, but to date I have had no reply.

We had booked our trip to Auschwitz at 7:20am hotel pick up and it lasted until 3pm. We had a very good guide, mrs. Daria, a very friendly and professional guide.
After that, we were supposed to visit salt mine (half day tour) which started at 3:30-8pm. Personally, not a very interesting trip, but our guide was very friendly. On the way back to our hotel, as we were exhausted and had nothing for lunch (because we had basically only 30 minutes break) we asked our driver to take us as soon as possible to our hotel if it was possible. He was trooping everyone in frond of their hotels but he left us on the Main Street, we had to use the underpass and walk all the way to our hotel! So unprofessional, as he knew that we had done all the trips today and we were very tired!!!!

The pick up was very easy to find in the square but watch out for the return drop off as they tried to drop us off on the other side of town and we had to insist that they took us to the original pick up in the same square .... we had to argue so be aware !!!

Hi, I booked a trip to auchwitz and selected 10am option. On the confirmation email that I received it states departure 11.15am, will this be the time that we get picked up from our hotel (novotel Krakow centrum) thanks :)

We booked through our hotel when we arrived and they confirmed the pick-up time with the trip organisers. I would suggest asking your hotel reception to help as most are very obliging.

I wonder if you can help me - I am hard of hearing (wear two hearing aids and lip read) and planning to visit Auschwitz in September but worried that I will not hear. Can you possibly advise what facilities there are there for people like me? Is there anything I can do to help ? I think your really early trips might help as it will be quieter. I struggle in groups as I need to be beside the person talking. Just want to be able to hear as much as possible as this is one of my bucket list places as I've read so much about it. Hope you can help?

The guide hands out earphones, so this might work for you.
Otherwise, you can always keep close to the guide, as the group is not very large (apx. 15 pax).
