This place is a must, obviously very upsetting but also interesting and must never be forgotten. The tour was very well organised by Discover krakow, the guide was very informative and answered any questions the group had, we had plenty of time to see everything and there were breaks for refreshments and toilets.. There is a cafe serving hot food and drinks and a book shop.

The balance of being both upsetting and interesting truly captures the essence of places like Auschwitz, as they remind us of the past while also educating us for the future.

The time of the visit was changed for one hour earlier. Information of the change came one day before the visit. New starting time was at 8 in the morning instead of 9. Even if you had received an electronic ticket, the tour leader did not scan it, but rather tried to find the names with very small print in his phone, which took some time before starting the tour. There was very little information available whether there is possibility to buy food or to visit any cafe etc. during the 7-hour visit. Also the short breaks (10-15 minutes) did not allow any proper eating. It would be good to know that visitors should bring snacks for the day, even if you cannot eat them in the area of Auschwitz or Birkenau. The guide telling about the history of the concentration camps was very good.

I felt very much part of a production process , the tour is very rushed with little to no time to absorb or read any information. There was a staff member rushing the tour guides along. The groups were far too big, 30 people with the guide cutting out a lot due to her distance from the back persons location. The guide her self was pleasant but had very poor skills at keeping her party together and projecting her voice. Glad I visited, but feel very sad that it’s just a cattle market getting people in and out asap.

The guided tour of schindlers factory was spoilt by the large number in the group.We think it would have made it more manageable and a better experience , if the numbers had been capped.
It was also disappointing to think we had paid out 15 euros each, to be told right at the beginning of the tour :” well if you can stay for the introduction and then if you wish to go off on your own , feel free to do so” … not really what you want to hear. The information given was mainly relating to the display boards and on walking round , the guide on more than one occasion commented ,” you can Google this when you get home or watch it on you tube”.
Personally we do not think it was good value for money and wished we had just turned up at the museum and gone around the displays on our own .

Overall the tours were very educational and it’s great to be able to tick them off the bucket list however there were a couple of things that were unfortunate and damped the experience. First of all, the Auschwitz tour was great but we felt like it was very rushed. There were so many groups of tours occurring around us that it made us feel rushed and crowded. I know they do this so they can get as many people through as possible in one day but it honestly ruins the experience. We barely had time to look properly at the observatory points and I found myself trying to take pictures as quick as possible because I was getting hurried along. Going downstairs in the ‘basement’ part was one of the most annoying parts because we had to go down in single file (because of other groups) but the single file was so long that I was far at the back and missed a lot of what the guide was saying at certain milestones because I hadn’t even reached that part yet. My audio kept cutting out down there, probably due to signal issues, which was annoying also so I missed a lot of the educational dialogue. I wish they didn’t cram so many tour groups in at one time and actually gave people a chance to take it all in. The guide himself was good though, and obviously the crowded environment is not his fault but it definitely influenced how quickly he got through the info which again, left a lot to be desired. I didn’t really feel there was room to ask questions because we had to move on so quickly. The salt mine tour was a lot better, our bus was late in picking us up but only by 15-20 mins. Our tour guide was great, charismatic and very knowledgeable. Our tour was booked in for 4pm and this actually turned out to be a huge blessing because the mines were near empty which meant we could really take our time making our way through and there lots of room for people to ask questions and take pictures at their own pace.

We booked via booking.com with discover krakov received confirmation. We arrived 15 minutes before the supposed pick up time stood in -7 degrees in snow for over an hour waiting for a bus that never came. Rang the tour company to be advised that we had not been confirmed. As we only had two days there we couldn't book for the Sunday with a reputable company so the whole expensive trip was a total washout. Contacted booking .com who said we will refund the cost of the excursion. Wow thanks paid a lot for the trip that didn't happen thanks to two very incompetent companies who I will never use again . Be warned!!!!

If booking with this group I would highly advise you to confirm the departure time of your booked tour during contact opening hours.Unfortunately I was booked for 830am and unable to get through to this company till 10am. One hour and 30 mins waiting not knowing would I even get this tour complete.Staff not apologetic on the phone.Very poor customer service.They kept stating contact was made to myself but no record of same found. Maybe for the future the phone lines should be open earlier especially if there is a pick up at 830am and a no show of transport!

We were left to wait 3 hous outside Auschwitz, so they could save money on the transfer we booked 8 month ago. We should have left Cracow at 10.30, but the day before at 17.15pm, we got a mail saying they needed to change the pick up time to 7.15am. They just forgot to tell us, that the guided tour was still at 12.00 pm.

1. I paid for a hotel pick up. I did not get a hotel. 2. I paid for a guided tour I didn't get a *guided tour* .3. On entrance to Auschwitz museum, an auschwitz staff member informed us that we had *Free* tickets that is was free to enter after 13.00.pm. So we paid €156 for free tickets.

Thoroughly recommend a visit to Auschwitz/Birkenhead but Discover Krakow were poor. Last day change of departure time for a pre paid booking to 6am from 10am and no hotel pickup so had to walk to meet transport. Not sure how much value the tour guide provided and rushed past exhibits without able to read the displays. Seemed inefficient and rushed so recommend independent visit

The pick up was very easy to find in the square but watch out for the return drop off as they tried to drop us off on the other side of town and we had to insist that they took us to the original pick up in the same square .... we had to argue so be aware !!!

I wonder if you can help me - I am hard of hearing (wear two hearing aids and lip read) and planning to visit Auschwitz in September but worried that I will not hear. Can you possibly advise what facilities there are there for people like me? Is there anything I can do to help ? I think your really early trips might help as it will be quieter. I struggle in groups as I need to be beside the person talking. Just want to be able to hear as much as possible as this is one of my bucket list places as I've read so much about it.
