This small underground shelter is the extension of the Nowa Huta Museum. The basement of a school, Nowa Huta Underground offers a brief glimpse of the nuclear shelter and its actual usage. Good to take a look.

Apparently shelters of this kind are very standard shelter in Nowa Huta, since more than 250 were constructed according to the leaflet we got. The place in itself is nothing special and the exposition there feels like it's a bit of a stretch, but still, if you're interested in the Cold War or how such places were made in the 1950's it's a nice place to visit. At least for us, the ticket for visiting Museum PRL-L covered also this place.

It's a bit hard to find, so when you do find "No. 3 Mechanical Education School Complex", walk straight through the main doors to the inner courtyard and there the entrance can be found to the left, where descending the stairs directly in front of the doors brings you to the entry corridor.

2nd stay in Krakow (which we love) and I was looking for a nice little visit….
This museum (in 2 parts) is very interesting!
You have to get out of the city (around 30 minutes by tram) and walk a little between the 2 places.
It’s very enriching and above all pushes us to think. To see, to do since it is quite remote and therefore not very busy.
English and Polish… no French at all!
