Krakow has many great places to visit, given it was not destroyed in 2nd WW it is in a very good estate. The Part around the Main Square and Wawel Castle are a must see, can be very jammed with tourists.

The historic old town is the place to go in Krakow. Most of the historical sites are within its boundaries or just outside. They have walking street inside this area which are lined with shops and restaurants and the places to see are mixed in. The Main Market Square is dead center and is a good place to work towards... There is so much to see, you need quite a few hours to see it all. The Old Castle & the Cathedral are fantastic with a panoramic view over the river.

Took taxi around, barter with the price, it's worth it. Mostly churches on tour, but we'll worth the time and money. Gives a great insight into the history and city. Our driver spoke little English but had a recorded information on all sights. Don't miss this tour.
