About
Obwarzanki, these inconspicuous parboiled dough rings have been part of our city's history for over 600 years! Beloved by citizens, tourists and pigeons! It's been known since medieval times – kings ate it, knights ate it, even Wawel's dragon ate it! Learn more and discover what makes them unique during obwarzanki making workshop. Each participant gets a piece of dough and leaves with their very own obwarzanek. Our interactive educational museum is located just a few hundred meters away from the Main Square. There is also a small cafe/shop with coffee and some souvenirs. Great fun for all ages guaranteed! We suggest to buy tickets in advance on our website, clicking KUP BILET/BUY TICKET.

Żywe Muzeum Obwarzanka it's a small cosy place where you can find the history of this common, but special treat - obwazanek and prepare your own one. And eat it when still hot, straight from the oven.
They speak English, so feel free to take your foreign friends with kids or without with you. friendly atmosphere and great fun. Highly recommended.

I would absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend this Museum of the Krakow Obwarzanek. It's actually not quite a museum, but rather a coffee shop (nice lemonade) with the possibility to do a workshop in English or Polish about how Obwarzanek's history started & create your very own Obwarzanek. You will learn why it is different from a pretzel or a bagel. You will learn how it is made and you will have some fine surprises along the way.

I would totally recommend doing this along with your kids, especially if they are 4+, as they will have plenty of fun playing around with dough and 'getting their hands dirty'. The workshop is very interactive and fun and the lady that presented the workshop I've been to was very warm and friendly with everyone. You will enjoy it!

A fun and great way to learn about the origins and history of the Obwarzanka. We had a blast learning how to make them. The hour passed so quickly and we took away our very own creations together with our certificates. I’m looking forward to trying to make them at home with the recipient that was kindly provided. I am returning again for sure and would recommend to anyone seeking something just a little different.

We spent an hour learning about the history of the local bread ring called an Obwarzanka. We made our own and took away a delicious souvenir to eat.
