Sad. Grey concrete wall near an urban junction that is silent testament to mass murder.
This is quite a walk from the old city but our plan was to walk straight here and then meander back through the Casimir Jewish district and look at the sights there. Without Google maps we wouldn't have found this place as there were no obvious signs until we were there. There are only about 20m of wall left and just to rub it in, the Germans built each section in the shape of a Jewish gravestone. It's the little touches that matter! It does demonstrate how a city with a richly embedded population can have that all destroyed so quickly. With our current obsession with labels and identity this problem has obviously not gone away.

Worth a look if you’re in area
We took an electric scooter around the city and visited the heroes square and the wall remnants. It’s so sad knowing the history behind these areas, and it’s well worth paying your respects if you’re in Krakow. Both the square and the wall are very close to Schindler’s factory and can be done in the same day.

    Only a small fragment but
Such a large piece of poignant history. If you are visiting the ghetto then you must take the time to see this. To think it once surrounded the whole of the Jewish quarter is heartbreaking. Follow it up with a visit to Oscar Schindlers factory for more about the history

    Ghetto wall
Only a small part of the wall remains but its an important piece of Krakow history. The plaque reads: “Here they lived, suffered and died at the hands of the German torturers. From here they began their final journey to the death camps.”

This small remaining portion of the wall is a symbol of the humiliation the Polish Jewish population had to endure - ie replicas of Jewish tombstones as the fence which surrounded their ghetto. It’s a powerful example of what happened here. Put this on your bucket list.

    Hard to find
Use Google maps to find the P of the ghetto wall Frite man . You can walk right by it but it's very interesting that this is all that's left of part of the ghetto . I think it all of this is very somber experience.

    Important piece of history
It's a small segment of the wall but tall. The plaque is in polish and Hebrew reads: “Here they lived, suffered and died at the hands of the German torturers. From here they began their final journey to the death camps.”

A Small Reminder of The Horrors Endured
This is a ticketed or even a signposted attraction. This is one of the last standing segments of the wall that was built around the Jewish ghetto during the holocaust. Given the remaining section is only 12 metres long the feeling you get when you see it and stand next to it distils a real unease as it resembles large gravestones. It is only a small reminder of the lack of compassion and depravity the Nazi's showed towards the Jewish population of Krakow and I couldn't begin to image how it would feel to live being stuck within these walls. It is not signposted at all and easily walked past but 100% worth the effort to find.

A piece of history hiding within Krakow everyday life.
Difficult to rate something that is not trying to be an attraction. It's just sitting there innocuously blending into the street scene. Not protected or presented, but an extremely important piece of history. There is another section 400yds away in a small grass/childrens play area worth looking at as well.

We visited the Ghetto wall after walking to Schindler’s Factory. I expected it to be a far bigger sight considering what it was but it springs up at you on a unassuming side street. Definitely worth having a wander to see if you’re in the area.

If you take a tour by golf cart your guide will stop here, otherwise if walking, make sure to include it. It is a small piece of the Krakow Ghetto wall that remains to this day, reminding us of an unjust time in history.
