Went for an afternoon tour of Auschwitz. It was a good tour although the bus transport was very cramped and hot. The guide on the bus was really friendly and helpful and had lots of interesting facts during the journey. Definitely recommend.

Really interesting visit to the salt mine in the morning and a very sobering tour around the two Concentration camps. The guides for both tours were very knowledgeable. The collection and drop off for the trip was well organised and we had plenty of 15-20 minute breaks to use the toilet/grab a drink. It's a long long day and it's a lot of walking but it's well worth doing

Pre booked a trip to Auschwitz for four of us. Less than 24 hours before the tour we were told it was cancelled. We were then offered a replacement tour on our last day in Poland. We accepted this as we weren’t flying out until late evening. However,at 5pm the night before the tour AT Cracow changed the pick-up time to early afternoon. This meant we would miss our flight so we weren’t able to accept. A full refund was requested however AT Cracow then passed the blame onto another company. My contract was with AT. I am still waiting for my refund. No further communication has been forthcoming and I have no way of contacting Viatour. Terrible service. I have documented proof to back my review up

While it was a very unique experience to visit these sites we were disappointed with the tour company. The communication throughout the entire day was poor. For example, we were not told when we would receive breaks, how long lunch would be, or where we would be eating lunch. The only communication we had from our ‘guide’ was very early in the morning. However, as detailed above critical information explaining the breaks and updates throughout the day were not provided. In fact, other than informing us to meet after lunch at a particular spot and to meet at the bus at the end of the day, the guide did not have any verbal communication with us. At the end of the day this became particularly frustrating as the Salt Mine tour provided us with a period of free time after the English tour concluded to walk around inside the mine. However, our guide did not inform us prior to entering the mine at what time we needed to report back to the bus. Thus, we were all left wondering if we had 10 minutes to explore, one hour etc. This led to confusion at the end where some people on the tour were waiting for others since there was no specified time given to report back to the bus. Additionally, the exit to the mine is at a completely different area than the entrance, thus when ten or so of us exited we did not know how to get back to the bus and spent some time aimlessly walking the streets of Krakow to try to locate our bus and the guide. It would have been helpful for our guide to provide more details here.

Perhaps this is typically the way these tours work, but based on visiting other cities in Europe we were expecting that the guide on the bus would provide us with information throughout the day both about the sites and the agenda. It felt as though all we paid for with this was entry fees to the attractions and transportation. The company itself did not provide anything extra that we could not have received from visiting the attractions ourself.

While I would highly recommend visiting both of these sites, I would carefully consider using this tour company especially for those looking for direction, organization, and clarity.

Auschwitz-Birkenau and salt mines are must see but this tour disappointed. This trip is advertised as 10 hours. It was over 12 hours mainly because we returned to Krakow to pick up / drop off customers for the mine. This is not the way is the itinerary is described and meant we were in the bus for 4-5 hours.

Very tiring and made worse by constant chatter and laughter from guides and driver, especially first thing in morning. Ironic that we were told not to eat in bus for safety reasons, but driver constantly distracted by guides and taking calls on phone. I never felt safe.

Lunch box average. Don’t bother

We are sorry that you felt disappointed by our tour. We always try to provide the best possible quality for our customers. The time of the tour, although we are sorry you perceived it as too long, this tour usually take about 10h-11h, but due to the traffic, queues and unexpected situations it may get longer. It is also stated in the description of the tour as being between 10 and 12 hours. As to your safety, it is always our priority for our customers to feel safe during our tours. Our drivers are not allowed to talk on the phone while driving. We will investigate this situation. We're very sorry, that you felt unsafe. We'll do our best to avoid such situations.

The tour was professional from the moment we were picked up in the morning, until the moment we were dropped off.

Our tour leader Aneta was exceptional as was the quality of the guides for both the salt mines and Auschwitz Birkenau.

We ordered the lunch boxes from the tour company and were very happy with the food and the value for money. It also meant we did not have to queue for food.

An emotional day, but one that was well organised throughout.

The Castle is well worth a visit whilst you are in Krakow.
You can visit the grounds free of charge but I would recommend booking a guided tour to see the inside of the castle.
We booked a guided tour with an English speaking guide to see the State rooms inside.
The tour gives some great facts, information & history of the castle.

We loved this. The whole experience is unbelievable. There are no words to describe Auschwitz-Birkenau. Many day that they would skip the salt mine. I'd disagree, you'd be missing a fabulous tour. But. Be warned, this IS a long day. However. There are frequent breaks to refresh. Keep some coins for the toilet! The driver picked us up from the hotel promptly (thank you Gabriel!) And the bus was very comfy. You'll be shown a film on the way the Auschwitz-Birkenau that will break your heart. After that visit, you'll have a very welcome lunch that is provided = a sandwich, a rice salad, a drink of water and a wafer snack. Plenty. The salt mines are next for a couple of hours which really whizzes by. Then, dropped off back at the hotel later in the day. The tour guides are exceptional. Truly. This in my opinion is excellent value for money. No complaints from us!

Got picked up in time, drove 60 minutes to Auschwitz camp. Waited there in line outside for 2 hours, then our guide told us that all tickets are sold for the day. Drove back 2 hours due to heavy traffic and the "tour" was ended.
Worst and most disappointing trip ever!!!
