About
The Centre of Geoeducation in Kielce is a modern facility, integrated into the captivating landscape of the Wietrznia reserve of inanimate nature, named after Zbigniew Rubinowski. The project has been implemented of the initiative of the Geopark Kielce, a division of the Kielce City Hall which deals with administration of geological sites and promotion of geotourism in the city. The Centre of Geoeducation comprises several elements which considerably enrich the concept of the swietokrzyskie Archeo-Geological Trail as a tourist product, especially in terms of the recently popular geotourism. The Centre of Geoeducation includes: The permanent exhibition „Chronos” – an exhibition where a variety of aspects of the Swietokrzyskie Mountains geo-diversity is presented, including the Devonian display which shows – by means of attractive, state-of-the-art exhibition methods – the most interesting Devonian rocks found in our region. An unique 5D Cinema, which will take the spectators

This is a great museum to visit. It's really modern and has a lot of interesting information available to look at inside.
When you visit, you must be part of a tour - we were told we weren't allowed to go through the museum on our own. There wasn't an English-speaking tour guide available when we went, but all of the written information is in both Polish and English, so it's not difficult to follow along.
Our tour group included adults and children, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their time. The tour guide was natural and friendly.
They have quite a few interactive screens that you can use to explore a bit more about the exhibits, including a 3D interactive diagram of a prehistoric animal. You can also see life-size models of these animals in beautiful realistic environments.
At the end of the tour, you have the opportunity to go on a virtual adventure back in time. There is seating for about 10 people inside the structure, which moves and rumbles, changes temperature, and even mists water on the viewers! This experience was in Polish (not sure if they have it in English as well), but still entertaining even if you don't understand what's being said.
After that, your guided tour has ended, and you're free to explore the following exhibits on your own, which include a lot of rocks and even more information about the area long ago.
Outside the building is a beautiful garden, and you can go on the roof to see a great panorama of Kielce and the surrounding area.
I recommend this museum for a quiet and interesting afternoon.

Nice modern building in a wonderful location (at the edge of the Wietrznia park). If you want to see the main exhibition, you have to book it before the visit. I was lucky, because I visited it during the "Night of museums". The main exhibitions is really interesting. It presents mainly prehistoric animals, which lived in Kielce region millions years ago, as full-scale models. So this is something, what you cannot usually image from images. Some creatures are really amazing and strange. The models are accompanied by photos, texts and other graphics introducing places, geology or history.
There is also a 5D cinema (in the shape of big drill), but I did not tried it.
If you have a chance to book a tour, do it - I recommend it.
I do not remember in this moment, if there are texts only in Polish or also in English.

Finding out that Kielce, in the middle of Poland, was once at the bottom of a sub-tropical sea is all very interesting, but the translations of the signs (where there are any) are all so crap as to negate the experience.
On top of the that, the main attraction, a simulated dig into the centre of the Earth was out of service, but no one deigned to inform anyone, nor was there any notification at the exhibit itself.
For a potential Unesco Hertitage centre of culture, it was all very amateur and with typical lacklustre zeal, the staff were not much better.
Good 'cos it's free, otherwise avoid.

Geoeducation center and natural reserve in Wietrznia quarry are great places. In the Center You can walk threw the ages and see how the Earth looks like in diferent eras. After exposition You can ride in time capsule watching 5d movie. For every young visitor Center can offer many activities with stones and fossils.

It's one of the most interactive museums in the region, where you can learn more about geological history. What's more museum is located in amazing plaze called Wietrznia, from which you can have great views on Telegraf Hill and some part of Kielce.

A good place both for ecological education and as a place to organize events and conferences. I attended a one-day conference for NGOs and I remember it well
