How I fell in love with Nikiszoweic
Jul 2019
The colorful history of Nikiszowiec significantly contributed to the fact that the estate quickly found itself on the list of monuments and historical monuments.

But against all odds this is not a place frozen in time ( like a museum), Nikisz appears as an equal hero in movies, is described by writers and painted by artists who are constantly coming, because having an address here has become almost obligatory in some circles.
And in this way a strange district began to form from the mining settlement - because Nikisz is certainly such.
I fell in love with this place during my studies and many hours spent sketching, tracking ideas and architectural solutions of the Zillman brothers.

In love!!!
Sep 2019 • Couples
I am 100% in love with this town. We discovered almost everything, thanks to Geocaching! Otherwise it’s a bit strolling around with no reason... absolutely beautiful to see, so if you have a some time, pay this area a visit!

The most original and historical part of Katowice
Jul 2019
If You are interested in history in Katowice You have no chances to visit old castles or monumental cathedrals. It used to be industrial location from the very beginning. But... You can find many places where there are remainings of industrial history. Nikiszowiec is one of such places. Old living quarter which used to be home for people related to coal mining. Now its being restored, so its a good place if You want to have a little walk, check historical buildings or eat a good food. There are few very good restaurants located in the area.

For architecture lovers
Jul 2019 • Family
Visit Nikiszowiec, it's like a journey back in time. This is a workers' housing estate from the beginning of the 20th century. Wonderful brick blocks are a real gem of architecture. Be sure to check out the inner squares - you will take you to a green garden from a cobbled street. Often organized here are all kinds of picnics and festivals, on the occasion of which there are many attractions for children.

Fantastic place to understand upper silesia
Dec 2018 • Family
I remeber, couple of years ago when i was visiting my colleagues form high school very often (homework, projects, you know....). It was a small disaster.. Right now it's ideal way to understand upper silesia district: coal miners, their specific work and living, and situation where religion was center of day-to-day life. Nikisz (unformal appellation) is one of many traditional areas in Katowice, where culture and history meets nowdays. I fully recommend as a must-to-see place near Katowice.

Walking tour
Mar 2019 • Solo
You can now take a self-guided walking tour through the district with descriptions in English and German as well. I'm so happy this place is gaining recognition which it truly deserves as an industrial monument with so few of its kind left. Beautiful place, where time has partly stopped. Now two of Katowice's best restaurants are located there.
