The place has some magic about it. There are many places to sit at, some fountains, it's a park in the bigger city with lots of tourists and exotic palms.

On 15.08 at around 10pm at the Market Square two young persons were approaching internationals inviting for a fight in Polish language and in fact attempted physical violence kicking strangers with their legs and arms. I started screaming for police but got zero attention from anyone, they only left when I started filming. Since that day we’ve been seeing these two guys quite few times. From this I conclude that they are local to this place and this type of behavior is perceived as norm among other citizens here since they are not afraid of police and any other consequences. If you’re not a white European man think about your safety twice if going to Poland. I never believed this type of agenda about this country until it appeared to be true in reality.
Later on the same day (!) another old men also aggressively kicked my friend in the shoulder while approaching him from afar and stopped waiting for his actions probably to start fighting.
Please, be careful and stay confident if you face these or other young/ not so young inadequates, do not agree or reply to any of the statements they make in the unknown language. And don’t hesitate to report to police using my videos if things will go too far with these two guys.

Came here for the Christmas market . Lots of food stalls selling mulled wine cheese savouries - meats etc . Christmas Decs hats and gloves . If you want to avoid the rush and definitely the crush of crowds go early in the afternoon

Christmas market! It was quite crowded, but very charming. Many food options - mulled wine, smoked cheese, fries, pierogi, bigos. Most of the vendors accept credit cards, which is also convenient. When we were there, there was a tent with a DJ, contests, etc. Very charming experience.

The square is worth the visit. Though I visited in February, Christmas stalls selling local wines were still there. Had a great time despite freezing cold

There are lots of places for sitting and relaxing in the square. There are a few cafes and shops in the square also. When we were there there was some sort of kids club running, so just felt like a peaceful place to enjoy some time out.

After years of being merely a tram stop with flower stands it has finally become the central square of the city. You can still buy flowers, but there's also a cafe, the new seat of the city hall and frequent markets, also other events are held. Now it's a pleasant place to sit and breathe in the city.

Unfortunately, it is not a beautiful Rynek as you would normally find in Polish cities: a traffic junction, newer glass facades, a lot of hustle and bustle.
