I invite everybody to visit this place. This is the time of art nouveau catch in XXI century. You can see "the life" of ancient Gliwice habitants. Vessels, paintings, sculpture, stained glass windows... and staff ladies who tell you many interesting stories

Villa Caro is a nice looking building in the middle of the city of Gliwice, Silesia.
In 19th Century it was a house of the one of “big shots” in the city.
Since 1934, in Villa Caro there is the seat of Gliwice Museum.
During my visit, right after New Year, I was able to see only one exhibition. There was time of preparation of the other new exhibitions upstairs, so only the first floor of the Museum was available for visitors. The ticket was very cheap, about $2.(!)
Anyway I was happy with what I saw. It was well prepared and nicely presented place .The interior of the villa has preserved the spectacular décor of the era. You can see it in different rooms, decorated for different proposals, prepared for different people of the Caro family. Each room has plenty of nicely preserved artefacts. My favorite ones was an office and the private museum with many things collected from around the world. On the walls of the villa there are a lot of ornaments and symbols. In its interior remained many original pieces. Richly decorated ceilings, paneling, wood floors, door and window frames survived already over hundred years.

Interesting interiors . We particularly liked the collection of jewellery that was on display . We took just under an hour to visit here .

Located close to Zwycięstwa street, and close to the old and the new synagogue, Villa Caro used to belong to a German-Jewish industrialist named Caro. It was turned tnto a museum. An additional floor was added to it, which resulted in some problems and closure of the museum for some years.

The building is surrounded by a small terrain with nice wall, outside of which there's a nice lion figure. Inside, in front of the museum, there's a modern statue too.

The interiors are quite nice, very luxurious. The expositon is fine, and there are temporary expositions too, unlike in the museum in the small castle.

the place is beautiful and charming. All the chambers presented by the museum are made to show the style of the XIX/XX century factory owner's "palace". Worth seeing also for its exhibitions that changes once in a while.

Willa Caro was the home of a prominent member of the Polish society, he built this house for him and his wife, it's full of representations of different artistic styles and valuable artifacts, some of them belonged to Caro and some others were added to the museum, in any case it was really interesting visiting this house.

Good to visit on the occasion of an exhibition. Willa Caro is beautiful but not that impressive if there's nothing going on inside.

My favourite room is definitely the cabinet with that old massive desk and chairs.

It made me wonder what would be presented in museums in 200 years from now. IKEA furniture?
