The old market Square was very traditional as most old market squares are.
They had an Easter market which was very small. There are plenty of cafes to sit outside

I have been here a few times because I have an interest in crystals and they have a great shop by the museum for semiprecious gems/crystals that I would recommend. The christmas market here is sweet and the local shops are nice and cheap.

The square is full of cafes, and shops in the surrounding streets which is really nice. In addition there were swings around the fountain which made it nicer. The information Center in the square was really helpful although they didn't speak English.

Not as exurberant as similar city squares in Poland, but still all right with an early 19th century Ratusz and houses from the times of Franz Jozef 'Der Kaiser' of Habsburg Austria. The rynek is located high enough to prevent it from being flooded by the Olza river. So you would have to walk up a bit and take your reward: coffee with cake, or what most people take: beer on one of the many terraces.

Beautiful place to sit down on a bench and watch the people passing by. Have a coffee, some cake or ice cream in one of the many bars/restaurants/coffee shops around. I won't give you much spoilers, but...

There is a small coffee house at the north side of the square. Also a shop with delicious cakes and coffees at the west side of the square with very nice atmosphere. Great (and sort of quirky) pub at the east side of the square. Oh, and I simply cannot omit so ever tasteful and famous sandwiches at the south side of the square (basically in Gleboka street already).

Looking for some hidden gems and tips nearby?
- Try to look around the square and find old portal and window. It's basically immured in the wall of one of the houses.
- Do you love old and majestic staircases? Go and visit Cieszyn's library in Gleboka street, no. 15.
- Have a rest at "Park Pokoju" next to the Cieszyn's museum just two minutes walk from the square

I am sure you will like it as much as I do. Enjoy your stay.

This is a wonderful place for a chat and a cup of coffee. It is a small scale Austro-Hungarian square. Just off the square there are some nice small shops and a hamburgeria.
