My name is Piotr Malarek. I am local guide authorized and licensed by the State Museum of Auschwitz and Birkenau.

That is why my main goals is to make every effort to create a space during your visit for education and reflection that become a form of commemoration and not just transferring historical information of the place.

Words can’t describe how Piot’r assistance changed our lives. He was a driver, a tour guide, an interpreter and a genealogist all in one! He went above and beyond by finding family information that we researched beforehand and repeatedly went out of his way to make our journey so special. For instance, when there was a locked gate to a cemetery we wanted to enter to find our ancestor, he went to the house next to the cemetery, knocked on the door, and got the combination needed to enter. When we heard that a relative was buried high in the forest, Piot’r hiked uphill, in the rain, at dusk to find the cemetery in such a remote area that we could not even make the ascent.
He studied our family tree and knew all the names and cities they were from. HE REALLY CARED about making our journey special. Of 10 is the highest rating to give… I’d give Piot’r an 11 !! We have traveled extensively and had many private guides and drivers but Piot’r was by far the best EVER!!!

Piotr is an outstanding guide, a detailed historian, and engaging educator. We enjoyed his guidance and direction for three days in Poland. We came with information about my family's confinement in the Lodz Ghetto, addresses, and work information, along with a history of a prior visit. Piotr was able to provide significant supplemental information, and went to great lengths to find the gravesite of one of our family who died in the Ghetto. He gave us a detailed tour of Auschwitz I and Birkenau the following day.

Piotr was kind, gracious, knowledgeable, and attentive to client needs and requests. He did genealogy research even before we arrived, and surprised us with the documents he found, such as birth records and high school class lists. We were amazed! He accommodated all our requests, and made our visit very meaningful and special.

If you want a personal travel experience that's tailored to your needs and likes, then consider contacting Malarek Tours. My trip was a 3 week pilgrimage with 5 close friends. We were picked up at the airport and our every need was met. We went to great sites, had wonderful Polish cuisine and were met by knowledgeable guides in Warsaw and Krakow. Between those cities, Piotr Malarek took great care of us, relating tons of Polish history, taking us to pilgrimage sites where his personal attention and reputation got us entrance to places that most tourists don't see. I highly recommend the Malarek's for your time in Poland

Piotr Malarek was our driver/guide/subject matter expert/all around helpful person! My husband and I booked a day trip for Auschwitz-Birkenau. What we got with Piotr was so much more. He was accommodating in every sense of the way. We requested an early pickup several hours before our slotted tour. He was on time and provided a comfortable and clean ride to the museum 40 minutes away. The entire time, he educated us on the history of Katowice. He pointed out cultural buildings and their history. He suggested good restaurants for dinner, etc. He gave us a local's perspective on Auschwitz-Birkenau that far exceeded anything I had read or knew about. He drove us to parts of the camp that we otherwise would not have seen during our tour. He made multiple stops and taught us the importance of different monuments or burial sites...always at our pace. When we had time before our tour, he offered to drive us to get a bite to eat and waited. After, he walked us to where we needed to meet our tour guide and offered to get an earlier ticket to see a new monument we wouldn't have had time to see during the tour. He literally hand walked us through the security gate/ticket reception translating what we needed for our headsets and early entrance. At the end of our tour, we texted him and he was there to pick us up within minutes. We spoke about our experience that day and he was thoughtful to give us quiet time to reflect what we saw.
I cannot express how thankful we are to Piotr for providing us an experience we will never forget.

I was fortunate this week to have the services of Wlad. He is without a doubt the most helpful and knowledgable guide I have ever met anywhere. On three separate days he took me to sites in Kraków, Oswiecim, Lublin and more. He has encyclopaedic knowledge of matters linked to the Holocaust and also has a vast archive he can draw upon. Away from the obvious duties of his job Wlad is also incredibly friendly and likeable. I have studied the Holocaust extensively and have visited Poland often. I thought I knew a reasonable amount but time with Wlad has been an education and a half. I cannot recommend Wlad and Piotr highly enough. They are supreme.

I've travelled all around Europe, Southeast Asia, The US, Canada, Jamaica...etc. and I never experienced a tour as memorable, meaningful, beautiful, and powerful as Piotr Malarek's guide to Auschwitz and Kraków.
Piotr is so well educated, extremely knowledgeable, and he had a great sense of shepherdship throughout our 12 hours together. I only wish I had more to tip him with at the end.
He personalized my tour, catered it to what I needed to see...all while staying true to the delicate locations we went to.
He made the impossible happen, very smoothly, and I am very honored to have spent every minute on the tour with him.
Not only was Piotr a great guide, he also became a dear friend. He went out of his way to make sure I had a place to stay in Kraków after when he found out there wasn't any room for me anywhere.
I am honestly waiting to do this trip with him again. And thanks Wlad Malarek for starting Malarek Tour Poland too.
Thanks Piotr, I take a deep breath every time someone asks me about Poland...and after a moment I am able to say that it changed who I am.
Everyone should take this tour, and do it as soon as you can...trust me.
With Love,
Michael Canon

The entire tour was very well organized and was much better than what I expected. As a tour guide and driver Piotr was very good. Even though I was alone he gave me a perfect company throughout the visit. He managed time perfectly Auschwitz –Birkenau and Krakow visit. He took me to even small towns on the way, Visited Wadowice (Birthplace of Pop John Paul II, Kalwariya UNESCO heritage site, Krakow Castle, Cathedral, Jagiellonian University, St.Mary's Church, Jewish District, Shindlers Factory(Shindlers List movie), and Krakow Salt Mine. Piotr was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited. It was a memorable experience. Thank you for all the arrangements.

Piotr is a first class guide with a vast knowledge of Krakow and its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish quarter. I especially appreciated Old Town – ringed by Planty Park and remnants of the city’s medieval walls, Rynek Glówny (market square) and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church.
The highlight of my tour was staying next to St. Faustina's Chapel and days in the mountains with a view of the "sleeping knight".
