About
Wigry National Park is one of a most attractive tourist places in north-eastern Poland. A great diversity of landscape forms, lakes, rivers and forest ecosystems create the outstanding tourist values of the Park. Lake Wigry together with the surrounding smaller reservoirs, creates a unique complex of lakes. Also valuable monuments of culture, with “centrally” located post-Cameldolite monastery as the most important one, influence a significant visual attractiveness of the landscape. The Park's headquarters, and Tourist Information Centre are located in the village of Krzywe.

Beautiful place
Aug 2019 • Family
Well I know the place very good as my hometown is not far away. It's a beautiful place to walk or ride on bike, you can also use kayak, boat or paddle swim bike. I love the place because it's quiet there but if you love being around people you'll find beaches there with many people. There are also couple places around the Wigry Lake to eat in case you get hungry. It's great place to make photos.

Great woods

Great woods with nice educational paths. Very fit for children, we've managed to get everywhere with a trolley.

On a bike round Wigry Lake
Sep 2018 • Couples
This is a day tour. 45km of biking on different type of roads. Best to follow green signs that mark the road closest to lake. A couple of great swimming places. Do not miss the pass over Hańcza River - marked with black marks

Peaceful
May 2018 • Couples
We spent the afternoon walking a couple of trails and sitting on deserted pontoons in the middle of the calm lake as the sun set. Fantastic birds and scenery. Pop into the PTTK office on north eastern side of park (7km from Suwalki): buy 1:40,000 walking map and park entry tickets. And off you go.
There also seems to be quite a number of houses offering accommodation: worth searching out as Suwalki not very special and much nicer to stay out in the park.

Beautiful retreat
Oct 2017 • Friends
This park is very remote and offers beautiful vistas of rolling hills and pastures. There are many little docks indicating fishing opportunities . We spotted a bike trail that I imagine would delight day trippers to the area . We were looking for a place along the way to stop for lunch, but there us not really anything geared to tourists.

Bike trail & natural exhibition
Jun 2017 • Family
One day tough but satisfying bike trail.Great views. Good quality bikes to be rented in Krzywe. Part of the trail can be covered via narrow gauge which is a very good option.Plus when you start in Krzywe you can visit the exhibition showing a variery od local species and plants which surprises you as you would not have thought we had so many. Anyway a great active day out.

tranquil lake surronded by forests and an old monastery
Jul 2017 • Solo
The main attraction of this national park is very clean and very quiet lake Wigry surrounded by forests and low hills.
In the center of the lake is a peninsula with an old monastery that dominates the landscape.
I can imagine that this landscape looked three hundred years ago, almost the same, as it looks now.
A few species of rare and protected birds live there, such as white-tailed eagle, swan and cormorant.
The main goal of my visit in this national park was cycling.
I highly recommend route around the lake Wigry.
It is about 45 kilometers long and very varied - marshes, meadows, hills, paths through forest, old cottages.
Two wild deers surprised me by crossing my path when I was cycling.
I recommend a cross-country bike or a mountain bike with thick tires, because there were a lot of roots, gravel and sand.
The Lake Wigry is also good for yachting and kayaking.
You can go on a kayak trip along the wild river Czarna Hancza.
For many people kayaking is the best way to experience this national park.
No problems with renting a kayak there or joining an organized kayak tour.
Don't expect to find crowds of tourist in this national park even in high season. It's very tranquil.

Great place for walk
Jul 2017 • Family
Beautifull nature, very well signed tracks, we walked with a small child who enjoyed the track very much. Only be aware of many mosquitos.

Tranquil and beautiful
Jun 2017 • Couples
Perhaps the most beautiful national park I've visited in Poland. So much to do - great cycling, places to visit, forest train rides, fascinating national park museum. We were sad to leave and would happily have been based there for 1-2 weeks.
