We visited there while returning from Olsztyn to Warsaw, I was curious to learn more and see the site of the battle that I was taught about in every school class. And I left with very positive impressions. The museum is modern and interesting - information is available in both Polish and English (which is important for us, as my husband is not Polish). We don't even know when 2 hours passed while delving into the history that led to the battle we all know, and then into its course (presented on interactive boards). The museum is definitely the most interesting element of the facility, because the field itself... is a field :) Although you can let your imagination run wild and try to see what it might have looked like 600 years ago.

We visited the battlefield only as the museum was closed in March. It's quite an impressive monument and you can watch the sunset from here. The battle happened in 1410 where the Polish and Lithuanian army defeated the Teutonic one.

I visited with my 7 year old daughter and my mum this July 2015. It was my second trip since I was a child. The place is of high historical interest and also caters to tourists and history buffs alike. Clean efficient facilities, large parking space, well sign posted. The best of all, in mid July each year you can see the medieaval village coming up with hundreds of people dressed up in period costumes, knights tournaments from anything like one on one long sword fights to melees of 16 on 16 grown up men in full battle gear weighing 20kg each. The actual battle of 14 July 1410 between the Polish and Lithuanian troops and the Teutonic Knights Order is re-enected on a nearest Saturday and it is quite a spectacle to watch. Battle gear, horses, flags, spears. Amazing attraction for kids and adults. Highly recommended.

The battlefield is an important place to visit for every Pole (not much to see anyway - just a big meadow), and the museum is like from another era. Just a few museum exhibits - many of those just reconstructions 10-15 minute walk at most. 1/3 of the museum is about "how the museum was built". We have XXI century here, \we have museums that let you interact with the exhibits and with the history in this case, we have computers, etc.
One more thing that can make your visit a bit longer - there are three 20-minute (old) movies that you can see there (included with the ticket), nothing special but comparing to the exhibits it's worth seeing when you already paid for the ticket. There's also a miniature model of some soldiers taking part in a battle, unfortunately not a model of the battle itself (it is in the same room where the movies are played so you have to check it fast between the movies).

The Battle of Grunwald was fought on 15 July 1410 during the Polish–Lithuanian–Teutonic War. The alliance of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, led respectively by King Władysław II Jagiełło and Grand Duke Vytautas, decisively defeated the German Teutonic Order, led by Grand Master Ulrich von Jungingen. It was one of the most important batlles in history of Poland and most of the Teutonic Order's leadership were killed or taken prisoner during this battle.
Unfortunately when we were there museum was closed but we have seen everything what we could outside including all monuments.

Loved the modern interactive displays, and was delighted that the information on the displays was also in English as well as Polish.

Do not raise your hopes high. The museum of the most important battle of the Middle Ages in the history of Poland and Lithuania has more sentiment on display than its real history.

Grunwald (Zalgirio in Lithuanian) battle is extremely important for Lithuanian and Polish history. The victory of joint Lithuanian Polish army stopped invasion of Crusaders and defeated them. The battle field is impressive and huge, we loved walking around and imagining the action of the battle. A must to visit for history fans!

We concentrated on the battle field rather than on Museum. Meaning, we came prepared ~ red online not only about the battle by itself but the about war preparation with all why, and who. It helps when you already have a picture in the head and want to confirm with reality.

Unfortunately, the battle field from 1410 was different than the beautifully opened field now. The current fields are all set for the esthetic pleasure rather than to keep it authentic. The biggest surprise was no forest on the hill where the Polish-Lithuanian forces stood. It is said, they hided in the shade when the Teutonic Knights position was fully exposed to the sun.
The monuments commemorating this event are beautiful and huge. it is easy to feel small and insignificant against the past history.
