This is a beautiful outdoor monument- you could say spectator-friendly. It is hard to fight the urge to take a picture with the great astronomer! You will notice the Copernicus Bench on your way to visit the Castle where Kopernik lived. A pleasant photo opportunity in Olsztyn.

It's a nice statue, situated on the way to the castle so you cannot miss it. Great for a quick photo and for good luck.

What a great chance to meet famous N.Copernicus in person ! Sit on a bench with him for a moment and enjoy view of old town. You may try to chat with him, but it's like talking to yourself....

The Copernicus Bench in Olsztyn is an excellent place to take photographs with a Polish polymath. We happened to visit it when few people were in Old Town which allowed our group the opportunity to take a number of unhurried photographs.

Copernicus sits proudly outside the impressive gateway leading to his former home when he was governor of this beautiful city of Olsztyn. His home is filled with interesting objects and artefacts from Poland's rich heritage of amazing history.

Great bench to commemorate a great astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus who was born in Torun but lived in Olsztyn for 5 years.

Bench is dedicated to resident of the castle - Nicolaus Copernicus, Polish Mikołaj Kopernik. It was Polish astronomer who proposed that the planets have the Sun as the fixed point to which their motions are to be referred. Moreover that Earth is a planet which, besides orbiting the Sun annually, also turns once daily on its own axis. Futhermore that very slow long-term changes in the direction of this axis account for the precession of the equinoxes.

It's a statue, nothing more. Touch the nose for good luck but don't go out of your way to do so, as it's not worth it.

We visited Olsztyn out of season and it was very quiet.
There were no queues or other tourists and it was fun to rub his nose and have photos taken
