Visited last summer and 1 building was still under major renovation. We were surprised that the museum this kind was FREE of charge. The exhibitions are world class and have a WOW FACTOR! The only issue is that not everything is translated into English but TRUSO Exhibition is, which was very interesting.
“Elblag reconditus” is another breathtaking exhibition. Very different and one of the kind. It was like walking through destroyed city- you have to be there to experience it fully.
In one section, there was vintage clothing & accessories. You could even try them on!
Would highly recommend this place to everybody.

Our guide gave os an in-depht briefing on the Truso settlement with excavated artefacts from the Viking age. Instructions are given on how to play some of the then popular board games. A unique gold coin and fine jewelery is also on display.

One of most interesting museums we had a chance to see. Excellent exhibition about Truso (ancient Viking city near Elbląg), original exhibition about history of Elbląg with some showpieces which can be see only here. Take a guided tour - you will learn a lot of interesting facts.

This museum was a nice surprise during our visit to Elbląg. The exhibitions and museography are of great quality. The staff is really friendly. They have a hands-on corner for kids and some of the exhibits have sample objects that people can touch. The hologram film was very interesting, but you need to know or read about the history of Elbląg since it is not narrated. Visually it is very effective. In summary, highly recommended.

Two buildings to visit, one rather boring on old pots and pans, although it counts some nice reconstructions of traditional rooms. The other more interesting about the archeology of the area, including an exhibition on Truso (viking town) and a rather strange exhibition on the destruction of the city, which is unfortunately only in Polish, but gives a good impression.
