The bisons reservation is worthy to show your children but for me it looks like a zoo. I find much more a much more interesting a guided tour of the Białowieski Forest.

Well, if you want to get to the bison reserve on foot and you want to avoid the main road towards Hajnowka, this is your way to take. You walk through a wet forrest, most of the way is on a wooden pavement a bit above the wet surface. Not that much to see - I come from a country without bisons, but with many similar places much easier to access.

From Bialowieza take the road to Budy and turn left at a clearly signposted place with parking facilities for bicycles. The fine trail goes through forest. For quite some distance it is elevated as the forest floor is humid and swampy. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the reserwat Pokazowy Zubrow. From there you can reach the main Hajnowka - Bialowieza road again. Turn left and after an hour (on foot) you will reach the center of Bialowieza again. Very nice to get some clue about the forests that surround Bialowieza. Heaven for peace and quiet seekers.

After a visit to see the animals you can take this gentle walk through the forest, which takes you to Bialowieza. It's quite a wet part of the forest so part of the walk is on a raised boardwalk. There are information boards along the way. It takes about 40 minutes, and it's impossible to get lost.
