Szczecin – Stettin – a relatively small city with a few sights. The most famous are the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Stettin, Krzyżowa Terrace and St. Peter and Paul Church. The way to the sights is shown by a red line on the ground.

This place is really just 4-5 renovated buildings. All house cafes/restos, breweries, or bars. Nice place to sit outdoors in summer, eat and chat. If you're expecting more you will be disappointed.

It is refreshing that Szczecin boasts about having the newest old town in Europe. The city is honest. So, if you expect an old city with lot of ancient history, you will be disappointed. If you want to see a place where they have done the best of the leftovers from diverse bombings and occupations to show their city's great history; Then you will like it.

The old part of the city, full of restaurants and close to some other attractions like the castle and churches and the river. Definitely worth to visit.

It appears to me that there is some confusion in the previous postings between "Stare Miasto" and the "Rynek" square in this city. Stare Miasto is the wider old town including a number of churches and other buildings, while the Rynek Square, also called the Market Sienna (and in previously German times until 1945 the "Heumarkt") is on the outskirts of the Stare Miasto. The Rynek has these wonderfully decorated old buildings (actually recent reconstructions) and the old town hall housing a museum. The Rynek is definitely a high point of a visit to Szczecin, but the Stare Miasto also has a number of other interesting buildings and churches. There is actually a unique "City Tourist Route" conveniently marked with red markers on the pavement that leads a some 2-hours long path through the major parts of the city. We got a map from our hotel with the walking route indicated as well as a listing of 42 different interesting buildings along the way - I assume this same map can also be obtained at the tourist information. This is actually one of the most unique ways we have ever seen to discover a city in an organized fashion - Try it out!

Worth a visit while in Szczecin. Unfortunately, it's a bit small area, not too much to see, but it's worth a visit, especially that it lies around 5-10minutes walk from Waly Chrobrego and the Pomeranian Duke Castle. I wouldn't recommend to dine in this area, because it's quite expensive (if you compare the prices to the other restaurants in Szczecin).

Small square, but very cute and picturesque. I also recommend eating at the Wyszak Family Brewery while there.

I enjoyed my walk around Szczecin old town. I had a map with a route to follow around the whole area. It was great!

place shows good efforts, but it pales in comparison with .....
... DANZIG-Gdansk, or POSEN - Poznan, or Krakau - CRAKOW,...

The Stettin folks are givnig it a trys, and the locals and visitors love it, so do mor of that, please.!

The old city centre is a great place to spend time. Whether admiring the architecture of the old buildings and their wonderful facades, or sitting in or out having a drink or a meal.
