The Church of St. George in Sopot is located just before the Molo, on the main street.
Beautiful stained glass windows, paintings and side alters fill the well maintained interior.
The side alter containg the sculpture of Our Lady of Czestochowa was originally on the M/S Batory Transatlantic Passenger Liner. Once the ship had retired, the sculptue was placed in the Church of St. George.
She rests as close to the Baltic Sea as possible, where she often travelled, and now watches over all the boats and those who sail them, and the travels who stop at her alter.

St. George Church in Sopot is a neo-Gothic building from 1901, originally a Protestant temple, and from 1945 Catholic. A historic church in the heart of Sopot. Built by Wilhelm Lippke in the years 1899–1901 according to the design of Ludwig von Tiedemann. The brick gable wall , along with the entrance beautifully decorated with granite, was facing the market square. The church has the almost fifty-meter high church tower, which at past was to be a kind of signpost for sailors of the Bay of Gdańsk. In front of the church on the right, a few years after its commissioning, a charming neo-Gothic chapel with a ceramic roof supported on four columns was built. Initially, it served as a well, now there is a figurine of St. Adalbert. Charming with modest interior. Looks beautifully at day and at night.

Worth a visit while exploring Sopot located near the train station with a beautiful exterior the Neo-Gothic style church has rich history. Interior does not disappoint from its whitewashed walls, high dark arche ceilings, beautiful stained glass windows, religious artefacts. Take a break and photo before heading back to Gdansk.

A nice church in the center of sopot, up a small street and around a nice small square. Church was open so you could go inside, nothing special but still peaceful and nice.
In the garden of the church a interesting statue to wojcek the bear, which has a interesting story from the second world war.

We were walking from the railway station (which is very beautiful) to the pier and this church is on the main route. It's very nice. My husband found very interesting thanks plaques and hearts for listened prayers over the statue of saints/Jesus which he never saw before - I remember this from visiting cathedral in Czestochowa.

There are churches like this in almost every English town, built between 1875 and 1910
they share decorative brickwork and dark interior woodwork. This one gains from its stained glass which gave it an orange glow in the sunlight.
Heavy candelabra.
Amusing bear sculpture in churchyard.

Pretty church in a small square of Sopot. Externally I liked the design and in particular the metal stairs to the side plus, of course. the statue of Wojtek the War Bear just behind the back. Inside lovely designs and pretty stained glass windows. Worth a quick visit if you are passing.

Opposite the pier, at the other end of pedestrian Monte Cassino street on a small square is this nice Church. It's the most beautiful edifice in all Sopot with nice altar and stained glass windows.

Lovely church which you can't miss as you walk down to the pier. Unusual seeing this as minutes later you are in a seaside resort.

Once you are in Sopot, get in to visit this church. It is both nice from the outside and the inside.
