- BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia20,038 contributionsIt's a pierThe pier being in top two attractions tells how interesting is to visit Sopot. Similar to thousands others worldwide, we walked to end and back, took some pics and killed half an hour in this boring town. In March there was no entry fee other travelers mention.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 10, 2024
- mikiboooSapporo, Japan140 contributionsNice viewIt's a very old wooden pier, and I recall it being built over 100 years ago. I went there at the end of September, at the end of summer, but it was still hot and there were a lot of people there. There were a lot of jellyfish, so it wasn't really a good place to swim. There was an entrance fee, but it was free between 8pm and 8am. It seemed like there were several boats that could cruise the nearby area from here. There was a lovely view of the pier from the top of the nearby lighthouse. You could get a good view of the pier, but also of the bike path that continued all the way towards Gdansk.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 1, 2024
- Martina MNingbo, China53 contributionsLong walk above the seaQuite unusual way to enjoy sea without stepping info it :). Small marina at the end, good for watching boats even if youre not a mariner. Unusual construction made of wood only. Better go in the evening to avoid crowds And enjoy sunset. Tickets to buy in the ticket machine just a few steps from the entrance, can pay by cardVisited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 14, 2024
- RachCarrickfergus, United Kingdom248 contributionsGreat walk and definitely worth a visitWe went to Sopot on All Saints Day and despite staying beside the train station we decided to take an Uber to Sopot. There were weather wind warnings for the day and the trains were on a more limited timetable. When we looked at booking an Uber it was only £8 for a single 25 min journey between 4 so this was perfect as we weren’t sure how long we were going to stay etc It def seemed like the best decision. We arrived early 10am and many places were either not open yet or closed due to the holiday. This was perfect as the town was reasonably quiet and it definitely got a lot busier as we leaving at about 2pm. We took a walk along the pier and beach and the views are spectacular. While it was dry and sunny the gusty wind def added to our experience blowing the cobwebs away on our walk. We stopped off for coffee and ice cream and popped into the Blue Pudel the oldest bar in Sopot for drink before making our way back to Gdansk. There were a few stalls along the front that we dandered past and got a few touristy gifts. Definitely worth a visit at anytime of the year - I imagine during the summer it is crazy busy so our autumnal gusty walk was perfect for us.Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 10, 2024

Pier is the longest wooden pier in Europe. Leads on to the marina wall now but a nice long walk down and back with plenty of seating and buskers along the way. Restaurant and toilets at the end but looked a little pricey so that, combined with the fresh and chilly breeze that was blowing across the outdoor seating area deterred us from venturing in. There is an entry fee in summer but this ends in September for the winter so if you come out of season, you can enjoy the walk for free.

Took the train from Gdansk city centre to Sopot to walk the pier and visit the city. Lovely day on the pier with amazing views of the Baltic Sea and the Sopot beaches.
The Sopot pier is the longest wooden pier in Europe at 511m. There is a slight charge to enter, costing 8 zloty per person.
The city was crowded with visitors but the pier was not. Nice long walk to the end of the pier offering views of the beaches and once out on the pier, views of the Grand Hotel. Looks historic from afar.
The pier offers a few boat trips, one high speed and the other looking like a massive pirate ship.
Worth the 20 minute train ride from city centre which cost 8.20 zloty per person.

Visited Sopot from Gdańsk via the train. A really pretty place with a lot going on. Visited on labour day so was extremely busy. Large selection of restaurants, bars and cafes and a lot of lovely architecture. It’s free to access the beach but we also paid 10 zloty to access the marina, the longest in Europe at 511m. Bought a padlock to fasten to the bridge and enjoyed the sightseeing. Definitely worth a day trip.

It's a longest wooden pier in the Europe, that's fact. But it is really worth to spent 9 zł per person to simple go there. What's more I wanted to use service inside pier and still I had to pay as visitor and then as a customer. It's really expensive due to the fact that there is nothing to see and it's really crowdy there

We took the train from Gdansk to Sopot. We paid to enter the pier. The views are worth the entrance fee. We stopped for a coffee at the restaurant on the pier and also enjoyed looking at the boats moored in the marina.

The pier is nice, it is full during the summer, even though there is an entrance fee. Tickets are bought at the ticket offices next to the pier. It was about 20 zlotys for 2 adults and a child. There is a restaurant at the end of the pier, but it is not worth it. It's a nice walk and worth going if you're in Sopot.

To entrance to the pier costs 8.10 zł. The walk along it's beautiful. There are lots of benches everywhere, there is a restaurant at the end of it, a small harbor for smaller boats and you can also sail on a replica pirate ship from there. The pier is 650 meters long and worth a walk. It's quiet there, all you hear is the sound of the sea and the cry of seagulls.
On the other hand, in front of the pier there are many stalls with souvenirs and refreshments. It is the exact opposite of the peaceful atmosphere on the pier.

It was an exceptionally sunny day and when I arrived at the train station in Sopot I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was.
The walk to the pier alone is worth seeing! I'm happy to pay the entrance fee for the 600 m long pier. The view of the Baltic Sea or the marina is unobstructed everywhere.
The view of the well-kept, wide sandy beach is unique!
I'll be back!

Maybe I am not a pier person but I found little to do especially after paying to get in. It is ok if you get to sit on a seat for a bit and look at the scenery but you could do that from land and not pay for the privilege. At least the staff taking the money were very friendly. They could also do with cleaning the dirt better off the top of the barriers that stop you falling into the water.

This must have been one of the coldest days I have had in my 20 years in Poland!
The snow, the sleet, the wind howling, the waves crashing, the gulls screeching ... but a very bracing and enjoyable experience, along with walking along the beach.
Warm yourself up with some mulled wine at the pier entrance and then get some really good food at Billy's American Restaurant nearby.

Can somebody tell me address of car parking near Sopot Pier
Written July 1, 2017
Sorry cant help with that one as we travelled by train. That said I think you can just park on the road side & then walk to the pier (an pedestrian area).
I imagine there must be a car park at the train station too and that is only a few minutes walk away.
Hope you have a great time!!
