The beach of Lena is really nice and wide. Even if quite full, you always get a nice place because of the width.
Unfortunately, Leba is dog-unfriendly in high season (July/August).
In these two months you have to go to the dog beach on the edge of Leba.
If you want to go to the beach with child, sack and pack and dogs and make a guest appearance in the centre or near surroundings, you have to get over the pier. No problem for visitors with cars. With motorhome or without car, it then has hard.
Hence my tip: In low season, those who want to go to the city and are not very mobile.
Three stars are awarded not only because of the dog beach. Also, the beach is not the cleanest and the small food stalls directly on the beach only open in high season, which is a pity.

The place was probably quite nice at one time. However, mass tourism of the most extreme kind has arrived here and nobody seems to care. Everything is completely uncontrolled and sometimes the traffic is dangerous. There is no tourism concept at all here.

The beach is beautiful it is so clean and lots of sand and having the hotel right on the beach is truly a bonus as you can fall asleep listening to the waves so relaxing.

Water is cold for Southern Europe standards, still we managed to bathe except in the windiest days.
Very shallow as in flat sandy coastlines, and lifeguards where they are active actively stop you from going farther than a dozen metres from the water line, so you barely have enough deep water to swim.
The woods right behind the beach are very well preserved for such a busy location, the community clearly learned from how we ravaged most of our beaches in Italy, or Spain for that matter.
It's a very, very long sandy beach, if you walk far enough along it you can be almost as alone as you want.
Toilets are frequent and clean in serviced areas, there are few bars on the sea and lots some 200 metres inland, behind the fairly well protected wood.
Some areas are less well served and so less crowded, while the best lifeguard-supported stretches are as busy as it gets - there you need to weave your way to the sea and sometimes backtrack as there is no physical room to walk between families.
The area near hotel Neptun also has basket armchairs with full windscreens for rent. The common alternative is to get a windscreen a few metres long and 1 meter high, with wood stakes to stake out your patch.
Then again, if you get there before 10:30 AM you will get a full choice of places as close to the sea as you can possibly want.

Nice long beach with smooth sand, but sadly a lot of litter like glass bottles, metal caps, plastic bags and cigarettes. Nobody seems to care but just let their kids play around the trash which for me as a sweed was very strange. Unfortunately this summer also problem with poisonous algal bloom so sometimes red flag.

Superb beach of pristine white powder sand that stretches for miles and miles - we walked over 5 miles in one direction, to the Dunes, and it still went on way beyond -

Idea to take a walk in wintertime is also good. Just take on you some warm clothes and you can admire beautiful sea and nature. Remember that it will be probably much more windy on the beach.

a Beautiful clean beach with very fine sand as you walk beyond the regular entrances to the beach you can easily find vast stretches with no-one for hundreds of metres. Wonderful for romantic walks.

the beach is very very wide, just huge! the sand is very very soft and light cream colour, but i didn't find anything different or outstanding that I can remember that beach more than others. I have other favourites.

Not for swimmers, water like liquid oxygen, sand however, white and fine, kids loved it. Better to park and walk, or take a cheap electric taxi

Hi all were is Lena what airpost do you fly to from the UK seen so many good comments I think I would like more information weme is the best weather. Local prices ECT

Hi, Gdansk is the closest airport, and is a nice city to visit as well. I flew in to Warsaw Modlin, but Warsaw Chopin is more convenient. Modlin is a good distance from the city.
Trains to Leba are interesting when we went (late May) the trains only went as far as Lebork, but taxis and buses run regularly to Leba, personally i'd go with a taxi. In the actual tourist season there are direct trains from Warsaw and Gdansk.
The best weather is probably June, July, August, but May was good for us, only rained on one day while we were there.
Prices are very good particularly for food, alcohol was also very reasonable from the little we had. Our hotel was very well priced at about £220 for nine nights, and there are hotels running the range of prices, most are quite small and the area is much like a smaller British coastal resort in feel, rather than a continental resort with the stacked up hotels.
Hope that helps
