One more site that surprised me. Lovely (!) furniture, mostly from the Art Nouveau/Art Deco era, a little bit of modern art, a tiny open air museum and an excellent (!) exposition on Koszalin's history throughout centuries. What a great way to spend a couple of hours in this city when the weather does not encourage you to stay on the nearby beach in Mielno.

The museum is housed in a small castle-like building (rooms/salons from various eras from the Baroque period onwards) and there is an outdoor area with some rural/crafts buildings from the 19th century. We were able to spend a very interesting 1.5 hours there, everyone (including the children aged 13 and 16) really enjoyed it. The detailed explanations of the individual rooms were available in German. The employees actually hardly speak any German or English, but were very helpful. You are always accompanied by someone as you walk through, as doors are constantly being opened and closed and you are shown the way. However, we did not feel this was "control" as other reviews suggest. A visit to this museum is like a small but fine journey through time, starting from the Baroque period and ending in Art Nouveau. And it creates an impressive comparison between the life of the high society of those times and the existence of the rural population. In any case, we really enjoyed it.
