The Lower Gate is a historic baroque gate which was built in 1626 by the Polish military architect Jan Strakowski. It was built on the basis of the fortification plan of Cornelius van den Boche, created in 1619.
During World War II, the gate was boarded up on both sides with wooden shields, therefore, they practically did not suffer during the hostilities.

One of the city gates, not the most impressive to see but definitely interesting, as its located next to the old fortifications so you can see how is looked like on the past.

Another great place to take unique photos. The Lowland Gate is one of the historic city gates of Gdańsk. It is located in Śródmieście in the Old Suburb. Great architecture

The Lowland Gate is an amazing piece of architecture,it's one of the few remaining gates left over from the 17th century and is really pleasing on the eye.
It's location by the city moat makes for some great photographic opportunities ,you can see the great architecture that's gone into the building of this gate and it's a great example of the defensive walls and towers you will find dotted around this most gorgous of cities,it's found on Ul Mostowa
Well worth checking out.

The last gate city located in the preserved embankments. Facility well maintained. Departure from Gdansk on the lowlands (Vistula Wetland).
Next to the city moat. On the other side of the moat characteristic buildings wetlands.
