Ok, it’s “just a statue”, but I cannot give commemoration of his endeavours in Wien any less than 5 stars.

Another grand statue I happened upon during my wanderings. Ornate, celebrating a king and riding a horse. Didn't find out much more than that!

Well made monument of polish king (read something about him, he was a great military leader). Located in the old town, in the centre of crowdy roundabout. The best part of this place? Lighting, of course. I recommend to see this place at night.

The very detailed statue is of Jan III Sobieski who was I found out was one of Poland's most famous kings.
who defeated the Turks and as a result this meant that Europe never came under the rule of the Ottaman empire.

This is a very imposing statue of John III, king of Poland in the 1600's. He was a great military leader.

Situated between the Old town and the Main town this monument is impressive. I found the sculpture a nice piece of art.

Well worth a look when visiting the city. Stop of 2 mins for photos.
Got some history behind it that you can listen to on the free walking tour.
Ok but not a must see really.

Jan III Sobieski was very important for the history of Poland and Europe as the CEO (sorry the king) who defeated the Turks at Vienna. If Poland did not take part in this war with the Turks, we do not know how the further history of Europe would unfold. The monument is a cool place to take photos during a walk in Gdansk. Mandatory visit this place if you are traveling with children
