An indoor market with many small shops. Here you can find most clothes, shoes, accessories, food, cakes, fruit... However, I missed a place to buy wine to go with the food. Worth a visit

Had a quick walk around. The big benefit here is the fairly large cigarette seller on the left where you can get cartons of cigs. I wish I had seen this place 4 days before as I had to visit 4 tobacconists to get my 800 p&s. This seller had way more than that!

Do visit this place even on a sunny day but it takes time if you try and see everything there is for sale. We had only a short visit here but I would definitely spend here some time on a rainy day.
These old market halls are very essential and here you get a glimpse of the ordinary life in Gdansk.

Came across this lovely iron framed market hall after looking at the Great Mill.
It has a basement containing remains of an old church (or is it part of the old city wall?) There is a long description but not in English/
Wide range of fruit and veg plus every concievable type of meat.
Continues in stalls outside.
Of limited interest to tourists.

The building itself is interesting and there are some artifacts from an archeological dig on the ground floor. As others mentioned just a bunch of cheap clothing on the top 2 floors. There are meat, cheese and bakery items on the ground floor so a good place to source your picnic supplies. Not very big, so I wouldn’t make a special trip

Great market on the way to the touristy Gdansk. Loads of fresh fruit and veg outside ( good for vegertarian and vegan travellers). Inside of the building you have multi-purpose sellers on ground and upper floor (mostly cheap stuff imported from china) so if you don`t have much time go on the -1 level to taste and buy some delicious polish cheeses, meats and bakery. Also there you can see the ruins of a destroyed chapel. A good place to try great food, also reasonably priced. Pretty much everywhere can pay by card - even on the veg stands, which is extremelly useful.

There are market stalls on 3 floors and you can clearly see it has some history and has been well renovated. Worth a visit.

On our weeks holiday in the beautiful Polish town of Gdansk we passed this beautiful building every day,it was our walk into the magnificent Old Town and this splendid evocative building was always a busy and vibrant area.
The building looks cool and the market stalls within are plentiful, you can purchase local cheeses, fish, meat, veg and alcoholic drinks and there's plenty of fast food outlets here.
There's a beautiful Old church Klasztor Ojcow Dominikanow here and also and your very cool looking Jacek Tower and St Catherine's Church.
There's also some great pubs, bars and restaurants close to this market hall so it's definitely well worth checking out.
Very easy to locate on Plac Dominikanski.

As an American with a favorable exchange rate, I would say yes. I don't know how it is for the Polish people. I did thonk some of the clothing was expensive. I have some pictures in which you can see some prices. They are in zloty, using kg as the weight, so you have to decide for yoyrself. It is a very very old marketplace, so must be good to have survived for so long.
