Nice boat trip

We had a very pleasant boat trip with guided tour and traditional folk music. Very good value and a must for any visit to Gdansk.

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the Black Pearl to Westerplatte. It was only about £8 each, which was good value for money we thought. There was a bar and WC on board. Commentary in different languages on the way there and sea shanty songs on the way back (don't worry you don't have to join in!). Interesting history lesson at... More

The phony sailing ships are rather hokey, but the 1:20 trip was well worth it. The extensive shipyards and port facilities are impressive. Food and drink are served on board. It's optional whether one disembarks at Westerplatte and catches a later ship. The English commentary is much shorter than the Polish (which I didn't understand).

Decent way to spend s few hours travelling up and down the Vistula to Westerplast. Good that it passes the shipyards which are quite interesting to see. We went on the modern boat and not the pretend pirate boat but still pleasant. Commentary was in Polish and German but wasn't a problem as I doubt it would have been interesting... More

Very informative day out. Went from Gdansk to Westerplatte. We had lots of time to have a walk at Westerplatte and visited the outdoor display about the history of the town.

We went on the Black Pearl pirate ship cruise out to westerplatte. The cruise advertises a commentary in English. In reality, the sound system is so bad and the background noise on the ship too loud to hear anything - better stick to the guidebook. The tour isn't hugely scenic either, most of the time is spent passing through the... More

Very good ride up the river and interesting to see all the industrial side of gdansk! The only problem was there was no English on the boat so all the information given out we didn't understand but still highly recommended .

Really enjoyable trip on a Summer's day and especially to a very important area of history - an area where the first shots of the second world war were carried out. Westerplatte has a very sombre feel. It isn't very well signposted so given you have an hour only, it may feel awkward wandering around but it seemed hard to... More

If you want to see more of the shipyards; get right inside the heart of it all then take a Westerplatte cruise. The cost is relatively cheap and you can catch the boat right from the city centre on the hour. The whole journey to Westerplatte takes about an hour and takes you right through the shipyards and past the... More

We took the ferry for this trip but you can also take the pirate ships. They both leave from the embankment just past the " Green Gate" and before you get to the Old Crane. The ticket office is easy to find and the return trip cost 40 PLN (zolte) This was money well spent in my opinion. The trip... More
