Mediaeval water gate

The Straganiarska Gate is a mediaeval water gate built between 1481 and 1492. It is the northernmost preserved water gate which is located at the end of Straganiarska Street and currently serves as a residential building. In the years 1959-1963, Zbigniew Cybulski, a famous Polish actor, lived in it and you can find information about that there.

Medieval gate

One of the many Gdansk's gate, this one looks sturdy and leads to the city centre or to thw riverside (depending which way ate you coming from). Quite different from the more local gates, definitely worth seeing!

Yet another lovely gatehouse on the Riverside which is easy to find. Beautiful carvings around, which have stood the test of time.

amazing architecture

Straganiarska Gate was built in the 15th century. It is one of the gates of the Main City. The gate is decorated with stone carved arms of Royal Prussia, Poland and Gdańsk.
Currently, Straganiarska Gate serves residential purposes. In the years 1959-1963, the famous actor Zbigniew Cybulski lived in it.

Another amazing building.

Brama Straganiarska is yet another amazing piece of architecture that makes a holiday to Gdansk so enjoyable.
Originally one of the water gates located at the end of Ul Straganiarska ,built between 1481 and 1492 the gate has the coat of arms of Royal Prussia,Poland and Gdansk carved exquisitely in stone on the River Motława side.
Extensively destroyed during WW2 and rebuilt post war between 1956 and 1957 this gate now looks amazing and makes for some great photographic opportunities.
Easy to locate on Ul Straganiarska and most definitely well worth checking out.
