It is a kind of drawbridge. It was very good idea that it was built. During summertime it is worth to check timetable as very often some ships, boats sail there.

A moving bridge that allows you to cross from one side of the city to another - great shortcut leading to some nice areas of Gdansk.

I am a huge fan of bridges - especially bascule bridges (which move). SO when I came across this in Gdansk and happened to catch it moving, I was overjoyed!
Over the next few days, I caught it opening and closing quite a few times but I was happy with this and the bridge looked very modern and so was nice to see

There is a timetable next to the bridge telling you when it will lift and for how long. It seems to lift up every hour and stay up for 30 minutes each time. I presume this gives boats the time to get in and out of the harbour as it seems to take ages to go up and down. If you are planning to cross, you may want to walk down the river to the next bridge or have a long wait! Looks good though and fits with the old and new style of the area. Pretty when it is lit up at night.

Seems to resemble a similar bridge in Copenhagen, but fits very well there and makes crossing the river much easier

Great short cut which allows you to visit both sides of the river without having to walk the whole way round. Note: this is a working bridge during our visit there was not much water traffic however I am sure it is much busier from spring onwards so worth checking the timetable located before the bridge.

If your in Gdańsk a visit to this bridge is a must. It comes down numerous times a day to allow pedestrians to cross the river. Timetables are on show at both sides. Your children will love watching the bridge rise / fall, although I am a fully grown adult and loved watching it!

The architecture is great. The sound alarm is completely unnecessary and should be removed. In Amsterdam we have many bridges that open without this sound alarm.

I'm a sucker for a moving bridge. This one didn't disappoint! It links both sides of the river. It's on a schedule and raises/goes down every half hour. If you can catch it, then do.

Wartka bridge allows you to go to the waterfront of the Motława River, which is a great attraction for walkers. The bridge itself is nothing special. The newly built bridge is typical of modern architecture

Vad är schemat för bron? Öppnar varje heltimme? Jag har lärt mig att den är öppen 30min. Men när är ganska viktigt för en kvällsplan.
