We had a full day planned out with Eliza. Long story short our cruise ship arrived late and Eliza picked us up at 1pm, as we stepped off the ship in Gdynia. The tour began the moment we got in the car, learning about it's roll as a NATO base.
We like to understand the history of a place and then bring it forward to how the people are living today. Next we drove through Sopot enroute to Gdansk. What a great place to enjoy a relaxing holiday by the sea and at an affordable price. We did the Pierogi class and learned how the owner of the hotel is refurbishing old buildings to make them into first class hotels. Our instructors were actually from Italy and Ukraine and each had their own techniques and tricks for making a Pierogi. Then we got the Retro car to take us to the shipyards and a unique visit to a wine/spirits import business owned by a fellow Canadian.
Eliza has a seemingly endless list of experiences and connections to help make you feel like your tour is the most important one she's ever given. Our shortened trip meant that we had to shuffle vehicles and she had arranged, on short notice to have friends help her deliver us to the Royal Road. We were experiencing the start of St. Dominic's Fair in Gdansk and the streets were packed with people. Eliza artfully navigated the throngs to get us to the key sights. We were on Mariacka St. talking about the narrow buildings and the architects redesigning them with the needs of the 20th century in mind. She sees an Armenian painter she knew who was selling his works in front of his home along the street. Next thing we know we are invited into his home to see what these redesigned buildings look like on the inside. No regular tour guide could provide that level of insight into Gdansk!
Thank you Eliza!

Eliza was an amazing guide! She is passionate about her work and is extremely knowledge about Gdansk and Polish history and development. Eliza knows "everyone" in Gdansk as she grew up there, so touring with Eliza feels like you are part of her family ! We saw "corners" of Gdansk that were amazing and we would have never seen with another guide. She was "the best' and we look forward to returning to Gdansk and touring again with Eliza! Anthony G.

We decided to do the electric car tour of Gdansk since one of our group was unable to walk around the city. We were so glad we did, our guide Elisa was very welcoming and knew the city inside out we learnt so much history and saw so many sights. The ride is a relaxed two hours with plenty of stops for photos we were even permitted to stop and grab some local beers for the ride. What more could you ask for!

Eliza arranged for me a lovely personalized tour of Gdańsk, Oliwa and Westerplatte, including a supremely yummy lunch and coffee! I was her 1:1 VIP for the day!

Eliza is personable, friendly, funny, knowledgeable and flexible. I learned so much about local history, got to see some beautiful scenery and buildings.

Our hotel recommended Eliza as an option for English language tour and she fit the bill. I could not have asked for a better guide and consider her a friend for life!

I want to give this amazing lady 🙌👌a full pot🌟.
Eliza in her quirky, sweet, electric car gives you a perfect intro to this beautiful little town❣️

With its rich cultural heritage and history, great food and low prices, Gdansk is a nice city to visit also in the winter months.

Eliza gave us a very enthusiastic, charming overview of interesting facts and knowledge about her city.

My wife, who is 100% Polish, and I were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary with our first trip to Poland and Gdansk was our first stop. This was a very meaningful trip for us as it was the first time my wife was in Poland. We were so fortunate to have Eliza Wasiewicz as our private tour guide in Gdansk. She is a delightful person. Eliza is fun, insatiably happy, seemingly known by everyone, patient, knowledgeable and loves her city. We spent two days with her and we enjoyed her company. The first night she surprised us by arriving at Hanza Hotel, in uniform, with her eye-catching red, retro electric car. She greeted us with glasses of Prosecco with Goldswasser for us to toast. It was a perfect moment. The photo the doorman took of us is one of our favorite moments from our three city tour. We highly recommend Eliza's Retro Tours for anyone visiting Gdansk. Some day we hope to see her again.

Eliza was so polite, friendly and full of information of the city of Gdansk. She belongs to Gdansk and proudly displays her knowledge about the place.

She is an on time person and spends enough time showing you the city at a crawl pace to give the fulfilling feeling to her guests.

Never had a boring moment, while Eliza speaks every moment of the tour. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

We booked a tour with Eliza for our first ever visit to Gdańsk, and it was truly marvellous! Eliza is a lovely lady, very informative with perfect English and showed us all the spectacular sites and places to visit! We were provided with blankets which was good as it was a bit chilly and she gave us a shot of her ‘gold’ vodka to warm us up 👍😃.

Would definitely recommend taking this tour with Eliza early on in your stay so that you know where to visit! Will do one again with my hubby next May! Thank you Eliza! Xx
