I love this view!! I recommend to go there everyone who is in Gdańsk. At least two times. Once in the day and once in the night. Beautiful view on my city!

It is definitely worth the short walk up the hill to the top of Gora Gradowa. The views are excellent. From the cross at the top you can walk across to to Centrum Hewelianum which is also worth visiting and walking around.

I don't see what all the fuss is about here. The views are not that good! There is alot blocked that you can't see and then you look over to ugly factories. Not worth the effort.

Fortifications have been on this hill for millennia, the present incarnation was modified and expanded by Napoleonic forces until it fell to the Prussians. Modified again. Used initially in WW2 as air raid shelters, but also SS and Wehrmact whose only modifications seem to be air raid lookout and AA mounts. The barracks has been utilised as the Hewellian Centre (so we ignored that). It takes a while to walk around the casements, carponieres, mortar battery and firing positions. Some of the positions have displays which depict its uses and a multimedia presentation.

During the cold war it was used as a jamming station to Radio Free Europe and one diorama depicts this.

Use the underpass to get to bus station and walk up the hill, easy.

Quite an impressive mediaval fortress, located very close to the city centre of Gdansk, and only a few minutes walk behind the main train station.
Large green areas and an intact fortress to visit, totally free of charge.

Several viewpoints offer a magnificent view over the whole city of Gdansk, both the old town and the newer parts and harbor areas nearby.

Nice place for a walk with a great view. It’s just a pity that the museum only catered for Polish speakers. Otherwise I probably would have loved it and given it top rating.

Nothing can describe my admiration of this attraction, the journey uphill was tiring but for such views it is worth it <3

I climbed the hill behind the railway station to see the large cross and came across this place. It was a rainy misty day and this made it a bit more magical. I found an old building surrounded by a moat and walked around it through some woods. No one else was around which made it a bit spooky. The fort itself houses an exhibition mostly in Polish but some parts in English. It was very enjoyable in that unexpected way and also very wet. I'd like to go again in the sunshine but maybe that would spoil it@

We came across Gora Gradowa as part of a tour we did and it was so beautiful. I do wish we had more time to spend as there is so much history to learn about this place. The hill itself has been used for a thousand years as a place of astronomical study and as a fortification through several wars. The bunkers were fortified with the advent of ww2 and it's amazing to be able to walk through them and explore. Definitely recommend for a nice relaxed stroll around not many tourists around either so you really get a feel for the place.
