This area is probably best known for its sand dunes. The highest one is over 40 meters (depending on the season). You can travel part of the way to the dunes by electric mini bus, but then you have to walk or ride a bike for about 2 kilometers. The path leads through the forest and is very nice.
Walking in the sand is quite difficult. You can climb the highest dune or walk to the sea. Many animals live in the park. I was lucky to see a fox on the beach.
Halfway between the park entrance and the dunes, at a place that can be reached by electric mini bus, you can buy food, delicious ice cream (recommended) and some souvenirs.

We really enjoyed our day spent in the park. The forests are beautiful, with plenty of wildlife activity, and a fantastic area for walking. The beach is beautiful and we were lucky to visit in a time that it was not crowded, although we were a bit disappointed to still see some plastic waste lying in the sand. We were particularly impressed by the park's museum, which gives the visitor a modern multimedia experience to learn about the park and its inhabitants. I would highly recommend a visit to the park to anybody passing through this area and we hope to be back for a longer stay in the future.

We went very early as traffic from Sopot is a mess
From the main parking to the famous dunes its 6km walk either forest or beach.
There seems to be electric carts but never saw them
Bikes are a good options until the dune
There is a slow boat as well
Worth it but the lack of English explanation made it hard to understand how to get there and how long it would take

Beautiful scenery, great park staff and very good facilities. You can take picnic and enjoy it by the sea. There is nice restaurant and coffee shop available as well.

An interesting display of a few buildings with artefacts from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Mostly gathered from multiple sources, as is often the case, mostly referring to a minority community of fishing and farming people who appear to have taken German as their default language for goods labelling and documents until end of WWII.
Some of the buildings and most of the written commentary are in Polish, with little German and no English.
Some refers to a local community that may have been diluted or dispersed over the last few decades: looks like the place is transitioning from a generation who could still describe some tools and experiences from memory, so verbally, and later ones who need much more documentation and support to convey the same information.
Do check the canteen or bar, where we had a pleasant light lunch.

Absolutely stunning, must see if you visit Leba.
We took a long walk on the beach towards to the national park. It was very hot, also mind it is about 8 km but it was still enjoyable for kids and adults as well. You can take amazing pictures of the dunes, the blue sky and white sand completely amazed me.
On the way back to Leba there is a possibility to take mini bus which was very handy for kids who was tired and only costs 5 zloty per person. Rest of us walked back through the forest which was beautiful. There are some places for refreshment on the way. Must see.

It is one of the national wonders. This is my third visit to the park over the last 25+ years and it is amazing to see how the dunes move. The park is really beautiful. One definitely have to get to the beach and swim in the sea. There are no facilities at the dunes. The entry fee to the park is really cheap but the ride to the dunes is relatively more expensive. One pays $5 one way to get there. If you don't want to pay, it is a 5km walk. Which is really nice if one does it on the way back and from the beach side. The facilities at the entrance need some work. They are a bit dirty. The parking is also per hour. $2/hour and there is no all day option. You can easily spend an entire day there if you bring your food and enjoy picknic at the top of the dunes. But you can't walk unlimitedly through the dunes like years before. This time we had to stay on the designated trails. The dunes are now more protected which is good. Nevertheless the place is beautiful and well worth the visit.

since it's national park and we were in a hurry, we took our electronic vehicles (scooter and ninebot) to reach the dunes faster (it's about 4km from the entrance). And APPARENTLY the electronic vehicles is not allowed because...... THE SIGN ONLY SHOWS BICYCLE AND FEET. W-O-W. Seriously?!!! Oh, but you can take a ride with one of the electric BUSES, which is driving there every 10min. Again - SERIOUSLY?! Can I use my modern phone there or I should rent Nokia 3310 to take picture? So we had to rent a stupid XIX century bike to go there.
The place is beautiful tho, everything looks surreal and it feels like the edge of another galaxy.

We really enjoyed the sand dunes and the beautiful beaches with nice white sand. The views were amazing!
We also liked the walk through the forest - the walking distance is about 5 km, but it's worth it. There were also some electrical cars that you can take up to the dunes, but we prefered to walk. There are some places on the way from where you can buy some food and drinks.

Would like to know if it is possible to ride a bicycle to the dune area?
If no, is it then bikes have to be parked in somewhere inside the park area, but outside of the sand?
Also want some suggestion about time.
Is it enough to go to the dune, round trip to Leba bus stop(from Lebork/Gdansk) in around 4 hours?
Planning a trip there in late Sept, the transportation connection to there isnt as frequent as summer days.....there is only around 4 hours between the earliest arrival and the latest leaving bus from/to gdansk/lebork.
If it is not quite possible to finish the route back and forth in 4 hours then I may have to consider staying a night in Leba.
Thanks for the advise in advance.

You have to know, that at the end of September tourist season is already passed. It could be possible that You can meet anyone during the trip over dunes. This time of year you can expect a strong wind and temperatures around 15 Celsius degrees (or lower).
