This is an amazing cellar with many lovely vaults to visit and very importantly delicious wine to taste. The host, a lovely bearded fellow, was impressive with his knowledge and kindness. A nice environment. I would warn that unlike what was mentioned on the website you have to order ahead for any food more advanced than bread with pate which was a slight disappointment. But overall a really lovely experience

Valticke podzemi is a nice labyrinth of cellars where you can enjoy tasting different types of wine while exploring the cellars. For 4 euros you get 20 tickets which makes it around 6 wines to taste. Each type has its price. Once you run out of tickets you can easily buy more and continue tasting. At the time of our visit, cellars were almost empty, so we didnt have to wait for wine as well as plenty of chairs to sit on available. By evening and night this place gets busy so reservation is needed. It is one of the typical tourist places to visit in Valtice, but for me it was missing the real atmosphere of village wine cellar.

Great cellars and nice place for small degustation of good wine and also big labirint. We tried more offers of wine like tasting menu. The better choice were white wines. Personal is nice and the serve small snack (homemade pate). Where you stayed in Valcice, you need to try it

First time it wasn't so busy, so we had fun and spent a lot of time there exploring the cellar caves and tunnels. Second visit, the place was rammed with other tourists, so we left after just 1 drink.

Can't comment on the food, but the wine was good enough, however the servers give you *exactly* the right amount of wine per half decilitre.

We had repeatedly visited that wine cellar. Always enjoyed wine tasting and beatiful maze of several ancient wine cellars. During our last visit we reserved cellar with cymbalo band which was fantastic. Unfortunately we also ordered some cold platters.
As a result 3 of us suffered food poisoning which included hospital stay in one case.
So be aware of that especially in hot weather.

This is a labyrinth of wine cellars built many hundreds of years ago. The entrance is quite unassuming but once you get in you'll be amazed.
Our tour guide met us with samples of local wine and then proceeded to explain why the cellars were built, along with what happened over the centuries to the buildings above ground. We were able to replenish our glasses during the tour!
The wine was very good - the white wine that is. The red wine samples weren't that good but the tour guide did explain their red wine was still being developed. Being a white wine enthusiast, not a problem for me.
The finale was a tasting of several varieties of local wine. These were classic Riesling or Hock - a medium light wine. The wine tasting was accompanied by food - classic cold cuts/cheese/bread.
We were in a group, so we quietly (or not so quietly!) got on with enjoying ourselves!
This is definitely worth going out of your way if you want to see something unique and you enjoy wine. But, don't drive afterwards!

Surprisingly spacious labyrinth of wine cellars connected by narrow corridors. A good selection of wines to taste, our favorite was the local sort Palava. Apart from wine tasting, visitors can admire the arched ceilings and old bricks on display. Pleasant temperature in the cellars, especially during the summer months.

We didn't anticipate the size of this wine cellar. It's a huge labyrinth full of stored wine bottles, lots of small tunnels interspersed with small rooms/spaces which can be hired for private events. It's also really nice and cool down there when the weather is hot outside (bring a cardigan/sweatshirt if you are planning on spending more than an hour there though.
The service is friendly and informal. We learnt so much about the wines on offer, and about wine in general. We speak Czech, so I can't comment on their knowledge of English or their attitude towards foreign tourists.
Upon arrival you purchase coupons for wine tasting and a branded wine glass for a small deposit. You can then start tasting, starting with white, through rose, orange (yes, this too) finishing with red wine. You can then purchase any wines you like.
They have live music events some evenings, so check their website. When events are on, reserve a table (they are very popular). When they are not, or before 19h it's fine to just rock up. All in all a fun place to visit.

I assume, you can get better wine degustation in Valtice, but theese might close early so then the choice is Valticke podzemi. Nice cellars, wine degustation and good food - recommended.

You cab buy for 4 EUR excursion in the 900m of wine cellars and tasting fo 6 samples from production of the Lednice vinery.
IN the February they open cellars only on Saturday eevening. There were only some ten other people, so we had opportunity to have almost private lecture on wine samples we could choose from list of at least 20. As it was time of fašang, we were offered small goos livre pathé free of charge. Ideal.
