Would have been nice but they did not have English tours unless pre-arranged with an English speaking sommelier (500 Kc) or on Saturday's for group of 10 minimum. No English flyers either. It was interesting looking inside the wine cellar but could not experience this.

What an opportunity, to taste the highest rated 100 wines in the country! One enters the cellars of a castle, & ad lib, walks about, pouring as many & much vino as desired to test out their own preferences. Bottles are numerically ordered & described in Czech, however, WiFi allows a scan of each bottle's description in english. Prices are... More

Don't do the whole tour. Do the one where you can roam around and just put 100-200 crown on a card they give you. Use this for tastings and wander the cellar. It is very very cool.

We dropped by without arranging for an English speaking sommelier and was not able to have an informed wine tasting. With that said, we were able walk through the cellar, view the wines and mingle amongst a German tour group. The cellar and facilities of the National Wine Salon looked amazing and the selection wine was probably one of the... More

We really wanted to spend some time here on a drive from Budapest to Prague. Two different people working at the castle couldn't tell us where the wine salon was. First we were told to go to a wine shop near the hotel on premise. Then they sent us downstairs to a cellar where Valtice wines were made and we... More

Well they say Valtice is the Capital City of wines - and this place simply proves it. Such an excellent selection of wines - white, rose and red - you'll find it difficult knowing where to start tasting. Fortunately the wine experts there really do know everything about the best wines - if you give them a hint about your... More

Maybe there are special programs, but we got there at Sunday, where we could try about 15 wines, 20-25 crowns each. Same wine you can bye at the normal shop for the same price out cheaper.

This is the most amazing wine tasting experience in the world. 100 of the best award wining wines made in the Czech and Slovak Republics, and just 90 mins. to try them all!! Enjoy but stay in the town of Valtice, because the Czech Republic has "0" tolerance for drunk driving!

We are from the Napa Valley, and we love wine. This was an excellent opportunity to be able to taste some Czech wines. There was a little problem in communication, and I am still not sure of the time limit when you purchase a ticket. You are given a glass and a wine list and sent into a cellar with... More

A friend of mine gave me a great present - two nights in Valtice plus tickets to the shrine of wine worshippers. Be sure that absolutely all sorts of tourist will be pleased to visit this attraction. Growing grapes and making wine means knowledge and art. Lots of information to be found on big boards to be read easily. Evry... More
