Interesting tour with guide. I wished I understood Czech, though. The guide seemed to make some great jokes which I missed out on. Great examples of old machinery. Seems like they just walked away from the mine and left all the machines and equipment at...More
We spent an amazing two and a half hour at the facility. However english tour isn't available, it was really enjoyable with the guide+english themebook. You have to know; this place is not a "museum". This is a place where you can feel how the...More
I went with my husband and his family and this is where they are from. Even though I did not understand anything they said my husbands mom translated for me. As we walked along the tunnels she would tell me stories, her husband (his dad)...More
Nowadays most of the tourists attraction points are modified or rebuilt, but this one with a concept of “ last working day was yesterday” is excellent that shows workers real situation. Very clear explanation by tour guide in english. Flexible arrangement. Recommended.
Visitors gradually walk along the same route along which miners came to work in the morning - cloakroom, guild room, lamp room and lift. Will visit machine and compresor room (is considered unique - dating from 1912), dispatching, office of the geologist, room first aid...More
We went there as a last place to visit in Ostrava with my friends. We bought the tickets and wait 15minutes for a start of the tour. It takes around 1,5h while we visit whole place. Mine worker talked about history of this place and...More
The concept here is to give a mine tour with the last day of work was yesterday. Everything is just as it was. I saw where the miners keep their street and mining clothes, the food area, the medical area, the map of the mine,...More
We were guided by former mineworker with very deep knowledge about all processes and details. On the top he was very entertaining and great with the group. We spent three hour tour and I enjoyed every second of it.
Even though the mine is buried and won't be accessible any more, the tour provides a lovely time to spend amidst the industrial magnificence of black 'n golden age of Ostrava's mining history. I loved the running belt-propelled-motor-thing!
